Now that the selections have been made for the 2021 NFL Draft, the online sportsbook odds have changed a little bit across the league. With selections finalized and the new schedule being released, the NFL regular season win totals have returned up on the board. Let’s dive into the NFC East and examine the latest NFL news and see how the odds have changed.
New York Giants (+400)
- April 24: 7 -115o/-115u
- May 17: 7 -135/+105
The New York Giants wanted to get weapons for Daniel Jones and they did. They were able to trade back in the first round of the NFL draft and were still able to take home an explosive wide receiver in Kadarius Toney. They had their struggles offensively last season with both inconsistent quarterback play and lack of overall talent on that side of the ball. The drafting of Kadarius Toney gives the Giants a serious playmaker for their offense and Daniel Jones yet another weapon to work with. Don’t forget that they also signed Kenny Golladay in free agency.
The Giants have the seventh-easiest schedule heading into this year as well, giving them a strong chance to squeak out of this struggling NFC East division.
Philadelphia Eagles (+400)
- April 24: 6½ -135o/+105u
- May 17: 6½ -125/-105
Philadelphia was able to snag two solid offensive players out of the draft in the first two rounds. They traded up to snag DeVonta Smith to pair with his former Alabama teammate Jalen Hurts. They badly needed an elite playmaker at wideout and Smith is a dynamic weapon that can help. Then they selected an offensive lineman, Landon Dickerson, in the second round to give their young quarterback Hurts some more protection.
According to their opponents’ winning percentage last year, the Eagles also happen to have the easiest schedule in the league. Philadelphia still has quite a bit of holes to fill over the next few months and may not be ready to compete in the division just yet but picking up an elite receiver and an offensive lineman could help Hurts in the long run. They have improved overall and the weakest schedule in the league could help them improve their win total also.
Dallas Cowboys (+110)
- April 24: 9½ +110o/-140u
- May 17: 9½ +110o/-140u
The Dallas Cowboys are doing everything they can to avoid having one of the worst defenses in the league once again. Their first six picks in this 2021 NFL Draft were all used to improve their defense with the most notable pick of the bunch being the linebacker Micah Parsons in the first round. Not to mention the fact that they were able to trade back in order to snag him, so they got good value.
They struggled quite a bit last year without Dak Prescott but now that he will be coming back with a revamped defense that could have a lot younger talent, they could improve. They lucked out when it comes to their schedule, having the second easiest schedule in the league, trailing only the Eagles. This team was so underwhelming last season but a lot of that was due to injuries. They might be primed for a big turnaround in 2021.
Washington Football Team (+225)
- April 24: 8½ -120o/-110u
- May 17: 8½ -125/-105
The Washington Football Team was able to win this division last year with just seven wins. Though it seemed as if they were improving as the year went along — especially on the defensive side of the ball. That unit was stellar all season, but they chose to improve upon that side even further in the draft. They nabbed Kentucky linebacker Jamin Davis in the first round, bolstering one of the best units. Davis should be able to instantly make an impact.
Washington is heading into this year as early favorites to win the division, but they, unfortunately, have the 15th hardest schedule in the NFL. That’s because they’ll face a number of first-place teams.
