Minnesota Vikings (6-5-1) vs Seattle Seahawks (7-5)
Monday, December 10th – 8:15pm ET – CenturyLink Field
Betting Line: TBD
As predicted, the Minnesota Vikings took yet another L against a legitimate opponent last week. The Vikings dropped to 6-5-1 in the NFC North following a 24-10 loss to the New England Patriots.
Minnesota, who entered the game allowing just 93.6 rushing yards per game, gave up 160 yards on the ground to New England. Quarterback Kirk Cousins had a rough outing. He completed 32 of 44 passes for just 201 yards and a touchdown. The Vikings still had a chance to come back. They had two chances late in the fourth quarter two score. Both drives ended with Kirk Cousins throwing an interception.
I’ve been preaching this for weeks. Hopefully, you’ve been listening. I’ll say it again. Minnesota does not pose a threat to any halfway decent team. They’ve only beaten some of the worst teams in the NFL. Every time they’ve faced a respectable squad, they’ve lost. No, the Packers aren’t a good team. Even when we picked the Vikings over Green Bay a couple weeks back, that was more due to Green Bay being a horrible road team.
Seattle, on the other hand is making a run for the playoffs. With their win over San Francisco last week, the Seahawks have now won three straight games. They can no longer win the division, but they’re still in the hunt for a spot in the NFC playoffs. Seattle is averaging 33 points per game in their current winning streak.
Russell Wilson is having a stellar year. He’s thrown for 2,469 yards and 25 touchdowns (6th) to just 5 interceptions while completing 67% of his passes this season. His 112 passer rating ranks 5t h in the league.
Minnesota is in trouble here. They’re going to CenturyLink Field, one of the toughest stadiums to play in for visitors. If Cousins doesn’t make better decisions, which he’s prone not to do, the Seattle defense will make it a long night for the quarterback. Seattle has interception 11 passes and recovered six fumbles this season.
The Seahawks are 5-2 SU and against the spread in their last seven homes games versus Minnesota. The last six games have gone Over. Seattle is 6-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games. Bet the Seahawks to continue their march towards the postseason. They’re a legitimate team, and we know what that means for Minnesota.
