We’re in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs, and online sports betting is here to enhance your viewing enjoyment. Last Saturday, all three underdogs won against the spread, and the L.A. Rams won their game in Seattle outright. Overall, the longshots won ATS in four-out-of-six of last weekend’s postseason matchups, with two dogs additionally winning SU.
NFL betting is entering its final three weeks of action. Ride the wave before it disappears, receding into the slumbering sea of idle sports. The most recent NFL odds on our sportsbook show the Rams and Ravens as this Saturday’s long chances. Let’s dig into the matchups to determine whether Los Angeles and/or Baltimore will win ATS.
Los Angeles Rams (6) vs Green Bay Packers (1)

Point Spread: Rams +7

Last Saturday, the Rams pulled off a bit of a shocker in Seattle against the favored Seahawks. L.A.’s two wounded quarterbacks, John Wolford and Jared Goff, combined efforts to help navigate the Rams to a 30-20 road victory. Wolford and Goff threw for a total of 184 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-25 passing. Rams’ rookie RB Cam Akers dominated Seattle, rushing for 131 yards and a touchdown in his first ever playoff game.
L.A.’s top-ranked defense sacked Russell Wilson five times, and forced a couple of turnovers. The Rams’ rock-solid D faces its stiffest challenge yet this coming week, tasked to tame the Packers top-ranked offense. All-world defensive tackle Aaron Donald suffered torn rib cartilage vs the Seahawks, but is expected to play against Green Bay.
The Rams’ defense should be able to lock horns pretty well with the Packers’ potent offense, all things considered. It’s L.A.’s offensive unit that is suspect. Goff is still recovering from thumb surgery, and the California native has not fared well in below freezing temperatures.
Jared Goff has played 2 games in below freezing weather in his NFL Career.
In those 2 games, Goff is:
🔸34/72 (47% COMP)
🔸381 yards
🔸 0 TD
🔸 5 INTForecast in Green Bay next Sunday:
19°F / -7°C 🥶🥶— Daire Carragher (@DaireCarragher) January 10, 2021
The Rams will lean heavily on Akers’ wheels in this one. Between Akers’ ground gains and a projected stellar performance by L.A.’s defense, the Rams should win ATS. Los Angeles will finish close enough to make it sting that much more when Green Bay wins. The Packers win in Lambeau Field, but the Rams fight for a hard-earned cover ATS. Packers 27, Rams 23
Baltimore Ravens (5) vs Buffalo Bills (2)

Point Spread: Ravens +2
Money Line: +110
Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson ran for 136 yards and a TD vs Tennessee, surging to his first career playoff victory. Jackson also completed 17-of-24 passes for 179 yards, but relied more on the ground game and the Ravens’ defense to secure the win. Baltimore bulldozed Tennessee for 236 total rushing yards, controlling the clock in the process.
The Ravens’ D held the NFL’s leading rusher, Derrick Henry, to 40 yards on 18 carries. Henry averaged a paltry 2.2 YPC and was kept out of the endzone. Winning 20-13, Baltimore avenged the early exit that Tennessee gave them in last year’s playoff dance, thereby exorcising some demons. The Ravens are playing extremely well lately, and most certainly look like trouble.
Meanwhile in Buffalo, QB Josh Allen earned his first-ever playoff game by helping the Bills to defeat Indianapolis 27-24. Allen connected on 26-of-35 passes for 324 yards and touchdowns, adding 54 rushing yards and a ground score. The Bills’ offense will find ways to put up points on the Ravens’ defense, but Buffalo has difficulty stopping the run. Buffalo’s stop-unit will ultimately make the difference in this tight matchup.
Baltimore is 7-0 ATS in its seven previous contests, while Buffalo is 7-0 SU over its last seven. The Bills are 8-1 at home this season, including their Wild Card win over the Colts. Both squads are peaking at the exact same time, almost making this a pick’em situation.
I’m envisioning another win ATS but lose the game situation here for the Ravens. This promises to be a highly entertaining battle, so get your bets in! Walk the tightrope, my friends! Bills 31, Ravens 30
