The NFL may have gotten hit with that nasty injury bug in Week 2 action, but Barry’s Big Bet is crushing it going 2-for-2 with another strong Pick of the Week for Raiders vs Patriots Week 3. I would recommend getting your NFL bets in early because the sportsbook odds are probably going to increase on betting favorite New England from 5½ to 6 or higher at BetUS.com
Nobody wants to play Bill Belichick the week after losing a game, and that is what Jon Gruden and the Raiders get with New England coming off an exciting loss to the Seattle Seahawks, 35-30. The Pats had a chance to win, but the Seahawks’ D jammed up Cam Newton on the final play of the game. The Raiders are on the other end of the spectrum after Gruden directed his team to a big upset over the New Orleans Saints. Las Vegas won 34-24 to open its shiny new $2 billion stadium on Monday Night Football.
I call it Barry’s Big Bet, but those crazy kids call it the NFL Pick of the Week. Now, let’s go make some cash on the grass for this Raiders vs Patriots Week 3 game.
Over/Under Total 47½ – BetUS Week 3 Football Odds
The Raiders looked impressive in the win versus the Saints using Josh Jacobs to control the clock and dominating time of possession with a 36:18-23:42 split. Derek Carr looked relaxed and solid going 28-of-38 for 282 yards and three TD passes with one TD going to his favorite target of the night, Darren Waller, who finished with 12 receptions and 103 yards. Waller impressed looking like he belongs in the elite TE class with Travis Kelce, George Kittle, and Zack Ertz.
Many have speculated that Drew Brees doesn’t have the same arm anymore and he didn’t debunk any of that while throwing almost exclusively dink and dunk passes under 10 yards. People seem to be forgetting his skill and longevity, which he will surely show in Week 4 at the Detroit Lions. and will probably bounce back strong next week The Saints dropped from No. 2 to No. 8 in my NFL Power Rankings and will probably continue to be in the top 10.
The Raiders’ defense held up pretty well also, but they did do it with the Saints missing No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL Michael Thomas. Stress. For whatever it is called, Gruden got it done. And in Sin City there is a phrase that applies to this win also. That win along with everything else in that city is What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. They won’t be bringing that victory or any other type of victory to New England.
Cam Newton looked great again and appears to be 100% healthy throwing the ball as well as I can remember. While Bill Belichick’s fashion style seems to be getting worse, which is difficult, his ability to use the weapons he has and adapting to those is still on razor point. It is time to consider the Pats to bet Super Bowl Odds on, which is currently +2000 at BetUS.
Raiders’ Monday Night Upset
The Raiders are coming off a huge upset and typically teams have a letdown after something like that. That is exactly what I expect to happen here. They are also coming off of a short week after playing on Monday Night Football, and they travel from the West to the East Coast for a 1 p.m. ET game which is like playing at 10 a.m. for them. This is too much for a lot of teams to overcome, and if you are playing New England it becomes highly doubtful.
Big Time Belichick
As I said, there’s one coach you definitely don’t want to play after he loses a game and that is Belichick with an amazing record of winning after a loss. But there is more because he’s not only going to win this game, but he is going to cove this spread in a double-digit win. Again, the NFL betting line is probably going to 6 or more, so get it NOW!
