One of the chief stories in the NFC these days is how bad the NFC East is. After getting embarrassed by the Arizona Cardinals at home last week, the Dallas Cowboys are somehow still in first place. They’re still favored to win the division, according to the NFL division odds. The NFC East (somehow) gets another prime-time game as we’ll kick off with the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. Let’s start there with ourrundown of the NFC Week 7 betting.
New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles
NFL Odds: Eagles -3.5
After starting 0-5, the New York Giants are coming off of their first win. They face the Philadelphia Eagles, who are sitting at 1-4-1 and are coming off of a loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The Giants continue to look dreadful on offense, ranking dead-last in total yards per game. Without superstar running back Saquon Barkley, this team isn’t able to accomplish anything. Luckily, the Eagles will be shorthanded also. Running back Miles Sanders and tight end Zach Ertz will both miss some after their injuries suffered last week. This game is definitely shaping up to be low-scoring so under might be the best online betting option here.
NFC Week 7 Betting Pick: Under
Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals
NFL Odds: Seahawks -3.5
Seattle is coming off of their bye week while the Cardinals demolished the Dallas Cowboys in their last game in Week 6. The Seattle Seahawks rank eighth in the league in average yards per game offensively and continue to rally behind leading MVP candidate Russell Wilson. Wilson has been playing at an astonishing rate and it has helped cancel out their below-average defense that ranks dead last in total yards allowed per game. Their opponent happens to rank fifth in total offense behind the improvement of young quarterback Kyler Murray and new addition DeAndre Hopkins. They will be able to put up points against a weak Seattle defense but if Arizona wants to win this game, they will have to slow down Wilson with their 13th ranked defense.
NFC Week 7 Betting Pick: Seahawks -3.5
Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints
NFL Odds: Saints -7.5
The Carolina Panthers were unable to win their last game against the Chicago Bears, losing 23-16. Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints were on a bye week. The Panthers have been turning heads with their level of play as they have had to do it without superstar running back Christian McCaffrey, who was injured early in the year. They have been able to fill the void with Mike Davis and he has been able to play exceptionally well so far, totaling 272 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
McCaffrey will have a much harder test this week against the sixth-best rushing defense in the league. If they want to win against the Saints, they will have to let Teddy Bridgewater air it out a lot more than they would like. New Orleans will be able to put up a lot of points. Especially now that they are getting reigning Offensive Player of the Year Michael Thomas back into the lineup. This will be the first time Thomas plays since Week 1. Check out more NFL injury news here. Similar to all division games, this one should be close due to their familiarity with each other.
NFC Week 7 Betting Pick: Saints
Detroit Lions vs Atlanta Falcons
NFL Odds: Falcons -3
Both of these teams are going into this game trying to get a much-needed win. The Detroit Lions have struggled a lot on offense, ranking 24th in the league in yards per game. But they will be getting an easy NFC NFL matchup this week against the 31st ranked Atlanta Falcon‘s defense. Detroit can’t just focus on their scoring as they have to stop a high-powered Falcons offense that ranks fourth in the league right now. Each of these teams should be more than capable of scoring points. However, this matchup will ultimately be determined by the defenses. While they both have been very underwhelming, Detroit has shown that they can slow down opponents.
NFC Week 7 Betting Pick: Lions +3
Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Football Team
NFL Odds: Cowboys -3
The Dallas Cowboys looked like a completely different football team without Dak Prescott, losing their last game 38-10. Andy Dalton started but he just didn’t have the leadership or knowledge of the Cowboys system to keep this offense the same way that Prescott had it. It doesn’t help that their defense is ranked 27th in the league, allowing their opponents to sore 36.3 points per game. Luckily for them, they get an easier opponent this week with the Washington Football Team. Washington also lost their last game by one point after deciding to go for a two-point conversion for the win and failing to get it.
NFC Week 7 Betting Pick: Football Team +3
Chicago Bears vs Los Angeles Rams
NFL Odds: Rams -5.5
To the dismay of fans around the world, the Bears keep on winning games. They are 5-1 after their victory over Carolina last week. They get the Los Angles Rams team that completely underperformed in their last time out. The Bears have been sticking with quarterback Nick Foles for the past few games in hopes of improving the offense and while he hasn’t played terribly, their offense still ranks 28th. They have had virtually no rushing attack and they don’t have enough weapons at wide receiver.
The key to this game will be for Aaron Donald and the Rams defense to consistently apply pressure in the pass game. On offense, Jared Goff and company have to look better than they did against the San Francisco 49ers last week. It was the first time we saw them struggle offensively this season.
