Betting on the National Hockey League is never an easy task, but there are some tips and tricks that can make things easier. We have taken a look at this week's schedule, and have picked out the best game to bet on this week. The Boston Bruins host the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night, and that is the NHL Pick of the Week.
Boston enters the week 29 points and they are currently leading
the Eastern Conference. The Bruins have been struggling a bit of
late, and have lost five of their last six games. Minnesota has
been playing better hockey of late, but they are still not a great
team. The Wild have racked up just 16 total points this season, and
are in last place in the Central Division.
Bruins Don't Give Up Many Goals
The Boston Bruins were the best defensive team in the NHL a season
ago, and they are back on track for that this season. Boston has
allowed just 2.45 goals per game this season, and they have a
terrific tandem of goaltenders. Tuukka Rask is the main goaltender
for the Bruins, and he has gone 8-1-2 so far in net. The Bruins
don't give up many chances, and Rask stops them if they do pop
up.
David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand are both having monster seasons
for the Bruins, and they are carrying the team on offense. Pastrnak
leads the team with 17 goals and 32 points and has been on a
scoring tear of late. Marchand leads the team with 19 assists and
does a great job of setting up his teammates. Boston can score just
as well as they can defend, and Pastrnak and Marchand are leading
the way.
Wild Still Looking For Offense
The Minnesota Wild have started to play some better hockey of
late, but they are still looking for more offense. Minnesota is
averaging just 2.65 goals per game, and that's not going to get the
job done. Center Eric Staal leads the team with six goals, eight
assists, and 14 points, but he needs some help from his teammates.
Minnesota is converting on just 17.7 percent of their power play
chances, and that number has to improve as the year goes on.
Defense and goaltending has actually been going much better for
the Wild of late, and it's a huge reason for their recent
improvement. Minnesota is giving up right at 3.5 goals per game,
and that number could win with some offense. Goaltender Alex
Stalock has gone 3-3-2 in his 9 games, and is giving up less than
2.75 goals per game. Stopping Pastrnak and Marchand will be a
challenge in this game.
Bruins Win on Saturday Night
This is a battle of two teams that are in much different places as
a franchise this season. The Boston Bruins are one of the best
defensive teams in the NHL and the Minnesota Wild really struggle
to score goals. That should lead to a pretty comfortable victory
for the Boston Bruins in this game as they will get back on track
this week. Bet the Boston Bruins over the Minnesota Wild
with the NHL Pick of the Week on Saturday night.
