A dozen hockey games are on deck for Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. ET. We have a full day nd we’re going crazy with a four-way parlay. Find all of the NHL odds from the BetUS online sportsbook and remember you can even stack up to 20 bets if you’re feeling super lucky.
Isles Shut Down Sabres
The division’s best defense takes on the worst offense. The Islanders have beaten the Sabres four straight times and outscored them 14-5. Buffalo has just been as cold as the winters lately having won just two of 10 and averaging just 2.2 goals per game. Oof.
The Islanders are far from spectacular, but they play some of the most responsible hockey around. Semyon Varlamov is putting up elite goaltending stats with +9.2 goals saved above average (GSAA) and has stopped 54 of Buffalo’s 57 shots.
Look for the Islanders to neutralize what little offense Buffalo can muster en route to an easy win.
Pick: Islanders to win
Preds Outduel Panthers
We’re rolling the other way on this one as the underdog Predators should handle the Panthers. Despite the disparity in their records, Nashville is more than a match for Florida. Both teams pride themselves in strong 5-on-5 play though Florida has a stark edge in power play.
The Panthers have doubled the Predators in power-play goals. But despite that, they’ve only managed to win by one on both games. That’s because most of the game is played 5-on-5. I also like Pekka Rinne to be just as good if not better than Sergei Bobrovsky.
This game will be close and Nashville could pull off this upset. At worst, it’s another one-goal game so take the puck line.
Pick: Predators puck line +1.5
Leafs Take Out Canucks
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… the Canucks are not fooling the Leafs twice. They pulled the 3-1 upset win on Thursday but the odds of them chaining together two impressive wins is a hard sell just like their Stanley Cup odds.
The Leafs saw their four-game streak snapped and they’ll be pissed here. Toronto is 4-0-1 following a loss with that lone loss being the infamous 5-1 meltdown against Ottawa.
Frederik Andersen will be back in the net and he’s stopped 74 of Vancouver’s 79 shots for a 3-0-0 record against them. Add Toronto on the money line and don’t think twice about it.
Pick: Maple Leafs to win
Jets Keep It Close Against Habs
Oddsmakers keep doubting the Jets and they will gladly keep making them pay. Winnipeg has a 10-6 record as an underdog and an NHL-best 19-4 puck line record. Meanwhile, the Habs have been floundering and have only won one game out of their last ten as a favorite.
Winnipeg is 3-0-0 against Montreal this season. They’ve been outshot in two of those games, but it just proves two things: they’re better at finishing their chances and they have much better goaltenders.
I’m tempted to add Winnipeg to win, but their penchant for giving up scoring chances will bite them in the back at some point. Still, they are too good at scoring to get blown out so take them on the puck line.
Pick: Jets puck line +1.5
Parlay: Islanders to win, Predators puck line +1.5, Leafs to win, and Jets puck line +1.5
