NHL Betting Parlay: Going on Momentum

It’s Humpday Hockey Wednesday and with five NHL matchups on board, making a three-team NHL betting parlay was as easy as the Flames lighting up the Canucks on Monday. You can find all the NHL odds from the BetUS sportsbook.

With a week of hockey in the books, the jury is still out on most of the teams although some noticeable trends are starting. Some teams are off to a slow start while some are in midseason form.

I took the liberty of going on momentum here and picked the two strongest bets plus a parlay sweetener from an ugly but gritty team.

Oilers Bounce Back Against Leafs

The Edmonton Oilers have been bad, especially on the defensive end. They’ve allowed 36.2 shots each contest, last in the league. This is primarily because of porous 5-on-5 play. Edmonton is last in shots against (109) and second-last in scoring chances against (85) per naturalstatrick.com.

That is bad news when playing the Leafs, who are already finding their swagger. Toronto leads the league in 5-on-5 scoring chances (104) and Corsi For (192). And with the man advantage, the Leafs are third with 42.9%.

Edmonton will have to tighten up on defense or shore up its scoring, particularly on power play where the Oilers have converted on two of eight chances (11.1%). Either way, the Leafs are on a roll and the Oilers’ paper-thin defense won’t stand in their way.

NHL Betting Parlay Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs to win (-172)

Vegas Continues Pacific Reign Against Coyotes

Another game, another Vegas Golden Knights victory. Vegas will go for its fourth victory by looking to beat the ‘Yotes a second straight time. That’s following their 4-2 win on Monday. The Golden Knights have looked like the team to beat out of the Pacific Division with a 3-0-0 record and 6-goal differential.

Vegas outplayed the Coyotes for most of the game, but most especially at even strength. The Golden Knights rank second in the league in scoring chances generated per game (24) on 5-on-5 and seventh in shots taken percent (54.03%).

The Arizona Coyotes will still have G Darcy Kuemper who will give them a fighting chance but as shown last game, they are still outgunned on the ice. Vegas will be three lines deep and will pick them apart. It seems elementary at this point, but keep chalking Vegas.

Pick: Vegas Golden Knights to (-185)

Ducks’ and Wild’s Slog Continues

The Anaheim Ducks and the Minnesota Wild are outside contenders looking to make that fourth and final playoff spot and Anaheim drew first blood edging Minnesota 1-0 in their first meeting. Both teams aren’t particularly special, but they play some unexpectedly exciting hockey.

Take a grain of salt with “exciting” as this isn’t the best hockey, but both teams want it and will be tough outs every night. The Ducks’ offense is so bad that they’ve only generated 1.33 goals (29th) and 23.7 shots (28th) per contest.

Minnesota, on the flipside, leads the league in shots per game (35) but plenty of that came from their two overtime games against the Kings. But the Ducks can make things closer than it appears and G John Gibson is still tough to beat. Anaheim should be in on this in what should be another one-goal game.

NHL Betting Parlay Pick: Anaheim Ducks on the puck line +1.5 (-270)

Parlay: Toronto to win (-172), Vegas to win (-185), and Anaheim puck line +1.5 (-270) at +234

Three-team parlays can be the bane of existence since that one team almost always spoils the parlay. But by online sports betting standards, this is as cheesy as it gets. You have your Leafs and Golden Knights, two solid favorites who have plenty of momentum and playing teams with weaknesses they can exploit.

Then the parlay sweetener comes in the form of the Ducks, who should fight the Wild to another one-goal game. Whether it’s a win or loss, Anaheim’s style of hockey makes it tough to blow them out.

There are five games on Wednesday and that’s a nice lineup with a fine variety of the type of hockey styles each matchup presents. Better yet, BetUS offers plenty of NHL betting lines on these games. That’s why BetUS is consistently rated highly according to sportsbook reviews. Find out for yourself and check them out.
