It was a nice (albeit tricky) win with last Friday’s parlay, and we’re sticking with a vacation theme this time around by betting online on these three road teams this Wednesday night.
While home ice is an advantage (for the most part) despite the lack of fans, these teams are favorites for a reason and should cash for nearly triple your payout.
Oilers Storm Their Nation’s Capital
The Edmonton Oilers (23-14-2) are getting parlayed to the ground against the Ottawa Senators (13-22-4) for obvious reasons. Edmonton has won seven straight games against the Sens and most of them weren’t close.
The Oilers have scored 34 goals to the Sens’ 15. That’s a 2.7 goal differential on average each game. But the last time these two played at the Canadian Tire Centre, the Sens actually outplayed Edmonton. They outshot them and came this close to winning.
But that was early into the season. Both teams, mainly Edmonton, have better goaltenders now. What hasn’t changed is that Edmonton is still an offensive dynamo and Ottawa still finds ways to get scored on.
The NHL line is getting ridiculous, but Edmonton should make it eight straight in Ottawa.
Pick: Edmonton Oilers ML -200
Avalanche Tame the Wild Again
We go from one lopsided matchup to another. The Colorado Avalanche (26-8-4) looks to continue their domination over the Minnesota Wild (23-12-2) who they’ve beaten five out of six times. The last game in Minnesota wasn’t as close as the score indicated.
Colorado lit up Cam Talbot in the 2nd with four unanswered goals. It may have taken its foot off the gas in the third as the Wild rallied and scored two goals in the final 11 minutes to almost tie it up. So close yet so far.
Avalanche goalie Philipp Grubauer may have fallen asleep in net there as Colorado continued to big brother the Wild. This time, the team had a whopping 70.8 corsi for percent (CF%) and had a 76.5 offensive zone start percent (oZS%).
It got to a point that Wild players started losing their cool and got rough. When you can’t beat ‘em, beat ‘em up, right? Well, the only beating up in this game will be Colorado on Minnesota. Again. Add the Avs to the parlay.
Pick: Colorado Avalanche ML -200
Knights Tune Out the Blues
Completing our parlay are the Vegas Golden Knights (25-10-2) who are fresh off a 6-1 beatdown of the St. Louis Blues (16-16-6) in their own hockey rink. The Knights improved to 4-0-1 against St. Louis and have doubled them up in goals: 25 to 12.
St. Louis has not only been brutal against Vegas but at home as well. There is no home-ice advantage here for the Blues who are just 4-9-4 at home. Not to mention, they’re 2-8-1 as an underdog and that has come against the West’s trinity: Vegas, Colorado, and Minnesota.
Simply put, St. Louis is a distant fourth to these teams if they’re even the fourth at all. With Arizona and San Jose making runs, the Blues are in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
The Blues have been battling injuries all season long. But now that they’re finally getting healthy, they have a plethora of issues from their dysfunctional special teams to their chronically bad goaltending. Vegas should dispatch them just like the last time.
