The Parramatta Eels are scorching and are ready to take on another club heading in the right direction.
NRL Sunday provides bettors with a quality contest between top-five teams that have eyes on making the playoffs.
The Eels come packed with a talented backline and although the Dragons have suffered some key injuries, so we’re expecting a tight game.
Online betting markets have the Eels as favorites, but can they fend off the strong challenge of the mighty Red V?
Eels Pack Formidable Backline
The Parramatta Eels boast one of the best backlines in the NRL and that’s what the Dragons are facing this Sunday.
With the likes of Clint Gutherson, Maika Sivo, Blake Ferguson, and Mitchell Moses, it’s enough to make any opposing team scared.
They have been putting it all together, which includes four wins from four games. The Eels are one of the best teams in the NRL and the Round 4 win against the Tigers showed why.
Parramatta wasn’t playing at its best, but it still managed to win 36-22 with a try on the buzzer. Scoring 36 points was a good sign and Maika Sivo was a big part of the attack.
Maika Sivo has officially re-signed with @TheParraEels!

Sivo, who turned down a big payday in French rugby, showed his loyalty to the club that gave him his first chance.
“Parra were the first club to give me an opportunity to play NRL,” Sivo told NRL.com.
“My parents always told me to stick with them because of that.
“They know I’m in good hands here and I’m very happy to stay for another two years.
“It was an easy decision for me to stay. I love this club.”
We expect another big outing from Sivo, who is one of the best running wingers in the competition.
Gutsy Dragons Defeat Knights
The St George Dragons were helped by an increasing injury toll to Newcastle last week, but it was a good effort to win.
The Dragons came into the game as underdogs but came away with a 22-13 victory. It was a solid effort to bounce back after losing Ben Hunt to injury the week prior.
They are not a team most experts expect to be in the top five after five rounds, but the Dragons have the talent to make a playoff push.
Players such as Matthew Dufty, Jack Bird, Corey Norman, and Andrew McCollough have been inspirational and if they continue to play well, success will come for the Dragons.
NRL lines have the Dragons as +9½ underdogs, which isn’t giving them much respect. This will be a much harder game than last week, but they are good enough to keep this game close.
Eels vs Dragons Statistics
The Eels have a 20-16 advantage since 1998 and it was a close series in 2020.
Parramatta scored a 12-4 win in August before the Dragons fought back to win 14-12 10 days later. It was a typical Dragons victory and we could see a repeat on the cards.
The Eels have scored one more point than the Dragons but have allowed 21 fewer points. Defense is a big aspect and the Eels have the advantage.
Completion rates are almost identical, but the biggest statistic comes with the venue stats. St George owns only four wins from 22 games at Bankwest Stadium.
It’s not a very good statistic if you’re looking to bet on the Dragons.
We can see why bettors would take the +9½ for the Dragons. They are coming off a good victory and it’s a lot of points to receive, but the Eels are humming.
Teams that have a historical edge often keep winning and the Dragons record at Bankwest Stadium is a massive concern.
Parramatta is more than capable of putting up a big number and although it could be a close game, the Eels should pull away late.
