All soccer leagues around the world will take a break for a couple of weeks due to the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers or international friendly matches. Perfect time to do a recap on the top European soccer leagues.
Let’s take a look at what has happened recently and how the sports betting odds to win the English Premier League, the Italian Serie A, La Liga (Spain), Bundesliga (Germany), and Ligue 1 (France) have changed.
Premier League (England)
- Reigning champions: Liverpool
- Current First Place: Manchester City
In the last fixture, Tottenham beat Aston Villa 2-0. The “Spurs” are in sixth place with 48 points. They’re three points away from fourth place (Chelsea) and the last ticket for the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League.
West Ham United, in fifth place with 49 points, drew 3-3 against Arsenal, in ninth place with 42 points. With nine games to go, both the “Hammers” and the “Gunners” could finish in the top five and play either the Champions League or the Europa League next season.
If you’re wondering why we didn’t mention Manchester City, Manchester United, Leicester City and Chelsea (current English Premier League top four), is because they all had FA Cup commitments.
Manchester City remain at the top of the English Premier League with 71 points, 14 points more than second place (Manchester United). Leicester City are in third place with 56 points, five more than Chelsea.
What about Liverpool?
The reigning champions are out of the title race. Right now, the “Reds” are in seventh place with 46 points, and their main goal is to win the Champions League once again (they’ll face Real Madrid in the Round of 8).
To Be Relegated
Both Fulham and Newcastle lost in the last fixture. Fulham remain in the relegation zone with 26 points, while Newcastle is dangerously close to it with 28 points. Albion (18 points) and Sheffield United (14 points) complete the relegation zone.
Next Best Games
The English Premier League action will return on April 3. Some of the best scheduled matches for that weekend are Leicester City vs Manchester City, Arsenal vs Liverpool, Everton vs Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton vs West Ham United.

Juventus lost 1-0 to Benevento, while Atalanta beat Hellas Verona 2-0. Both Juventus and Atalanta have 55 points (third and fourth place), but Juventus have played one game less.
Napoli defeated AS Roma 2-0 to climb to fifth place (53 points). Napoli and Inter Milan are the only teams that haven’t lost in their last five Italian Serie A games.
Inter Milan still have to face Napoli, AS Roma and Juventus. Those are going to be the key in order to finally dethrone Juventus (they’ve won the last nine titles in a row).
Relegation
All Cagliari (22 points), Parma (19 points) and Crotone (15 points) lost in their last Italian Serie A presentation, but there’s still hope for all of them; Torino are dangerously close to the relegation zone (23 points) with 10 games to go.

Both Eibar and S.D. Huesca drew in their last La Liga fixture, but that wasn’t enough to climb out of the relegation zone. S.D. Huesca are in last place with 21 points, while both Eibar and Deportivo Alaves have 23 points.

Bundesliga (Germany)
- Reigning champions: Bayern Munich
- Current First Place: Bayern Munich
Robert Lewandowski has to be from another planet. He has scored 35 goals (more than seven Bundesliga teams in total), and he’s one of the reasons why Bayern Munich have been able to maintain the Bundesliga top spot.
More recently, Bayern Munich beat Stuttgart 4-0 (with a hat trick from Lewandowski); they’ve 61 points, four points more than RB Leipzig, who beat Arminia 1-0.
Wolfsburg beat Werder Bremen 2-1 to remain in third place. They’ve 51 points, four more than Frankfurt and eight more than Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern Munich are looking to win their nine straight Bundesliga title, and it looks like only RB Leipzig could prevent it.

LOSC Lille recently lost 2-1 to Nimes, but they’ll have a pretty good chance to regain first place on April 3 against PSG.
Despite losing against PSG, Lyon are still in third place with 60 points, one more than AS Monaco (fourth place), who beat Saint-Etienne 4-0.
The Ligue 1 only offers three Champions League tickets, and one Europa League ticket
Last Two
Dijon (15 points) have lost their last five games in a row and they have no chances to stay in the Ligue 1. Nantes are also in the relegation zone with 28 points, but that’s just one point less than Nimes and Lorient.
