Last season, the game at Camp Nou ended 0-0. Later, Real Madrid won 2-0 at Santiago Bernabeu.
Previously, Barcelona won four of their last six matchups, including a 5-1 at Camp Nou and a 3-0 at Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid’s last victory at Camp Nou was in 2016. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning goal and boy do they miss him.

“El Clasico” is almost a separate tournament where recent results or locker room problems don’t matter, but there’s no doubt that Barcelona has some advantage over Real Madrid and not only because they will be playing at home.
Ronald Koeman took Barcelona’s coaching job after Bayern Munich humiliated them in the Champions League Round of 8. He made some changes like letting Luis Suarez go, but Barcelona did some signings to replace the players who left, Real Madrid didn’t.
Barcelona recovered Philippe Coutinho and signed Miralem Pjanic, Trincao, Sergiño Dest, Matheus Fernandes and Pedri. Coutinho, Pjanic and Dest have a ton of international experience.
On the other hand, Real Madrid lost James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon, Achraf Hakimi and they could only recover Martin Odegaard and Alvaro Odriozola.
Regarding La Liga, Barcelona averages two goals per game and owns one of the best defensive units after allowing just two goals in four matches.
Real Madrid averages 0.8 goals per game and has conceded three goals in five games. Besides Karim Benzema Real Madrid doesn’t have any more strikers with the ‘killer instinct’ you need to succeed in a team like this.
Barcelona have Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann, but surprisingly enough the top scorer of the team is Ansu Fati (three goals in La Liga, one in Champions League) and Pedri already scored in the Champions League.
After six games, Real Sociedad and Villarreal lead the competition with 11 points. Barcelona already beat Villarreal 0-4 while Real Madrid tied 0-0 against Real Sociedad.
Right now, Real Madrid is vulnerable. An early goal from Barcelona could cause Real Madrid to fall emotionally and Sergio Ramos, Madrid’s best defender (and possibly best player) is not going to be at 100%.
Discarded Players and Projected Line-ups
Barcelona’s defensive unit will be decimated because all Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (Goalkeeper), Samuel Umtiti (center-back) and Jordi Alba (left-back) have been ruled out due to injury.
Neto, Clement Lenglet, and Sergiño Dest are expected to be their replacements.
Barcelona’s projected line-up is Neto, Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Sergiño Dest, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie De Jong, Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann.
Real Madrid will have Sergio Ramos back (out of last game due to injury), but Zidane will not be able to count on Eden Hazard, Martin Odegaard and Dani Carvajal. Alvaro Odriozola is questionable.
Real Madrid’s projected line-up is Thibaut Courtois, Ferland Mendy, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Odriozola, Federico Valverde, Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Vinicius Jr, Isco, Karim Benzema.
Pick: Barcelona to win
Over/Under 2½ goals: Barcelona (2-1-1) | Real Madrid (3-1-1)
Like we already mentioned, Barcelona average two goals per game and Real Madrid 0.8 goals per game.
Midweek, Barcelona scored five goals (five different players) against Ferencvaros and Real Madrid scored two against Shakhtar.
In both of their victories in La Liga, Barcelona scored at least three goals (3-0 and 4-0) and Real Madrid scored 2+ goals in two of their five games.
The last three ‘Clasicos’ ended with a final score under 2 ½ goals, but next Saturday Barcelona should take advantage of Real Madrid’s tough situation and win somewhat comfortably.
Pick: Over 2½ goals
Prediction Score: Barcelona 3, Real Madrid 1
