LA Galaxy defeated LAFC 3-0 the last time they met at Dignity Health Tennis Center. Sebastian Lletget scored twice, and LAFC lost Mark-Anthony Kaye after he got expelled at the beginning of the second half.
The last three times they faced each other, one of them finished with a clean sheet.
Why bet on Los Angeles Galaxy?
Last week, Los Angeles Galaxy suffered an embarrassing 3-0 loss to the Seattle Sounders. Now, they sit in fifth place with six points, one more than Los Angeles FC, which drew 1-1 against Houston Dynamo.
“It is my responsibility. I organized the team. We had good chances, but we didn’t move the ball properly and that exposed us too much. We did not defend well. I learned a lot from this group today and some things that I will not do again,” said manager Greg Vanney after their last game.
LA Galaxy has scored six goals and allowed seven. Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has scored five goals. He leads the tournament scoring chart, but he can’t do it all, Nicolas Lodeiro and Samuel Grandsir need to step up.
The Galaxy are 1-0 at home, 1-0 against the spread and over/under. LA Galaxy scored three goals in two of their last three games, but they also allowed at least two in each game, making it clear that the defense has a lot to improve.
It’s the fourth time the Galaxy has allowed seven goals in the first three matches of a season (1997, 2008, 2012). They’ve never allowed more.
Expect some changes in their lineup. Their expected starting XI is Jonathan Bond, Julian Araujo, Daniel Steres, Nick DePuy, Jorge Villafana, Adam Saldana, Jonathan dos Santos, Nicolas Lodeiro, Victor Vazquez, Samuel Grandsir, Javier Hernandez.
Why Bet on Los Angeles FC?
As we already mentioned, Los Angeles FC remains unbeaten thanks to a 1-2-0 record. They opened the season with a 2-0 victory against Austin FC, then drew 1-1 against the Seattle Sounders and Houston Dynamo.
“We’re not at our best, but “El Trafico” is always a special game and we’re still a very good team,” said manager Bob Bradley prior to this Saturday’s game.
LAFC scored in each game despite not having Vela in their last two. Vela, who has scored 10 goals against Galaxy in his career, is expected to return this Saturday, but not at 100 percent. Meanwhile, Corey Baird has become their go-to guy at offense.
They’ve scored four goals, below their usual scoring rhythm at the beginning of a season. LAFC had scored at least seven goals at this stage in each of its first three MLS seasons.
Their road record is 0-1-0 and they are 0-1 against the spread and over/under.
Their expected lineup is Pablo Sisniega, Marco Farfan, Jesus Murillo, Eddie Segura, Diego Palacios, Latif Blessing, Eduard Atuesta, Mark-Anthony Kaye, Kwadwo Opoku, Diego Rossi, Corey Baird.
Final Analysis, Predictions
At the beginning of the season, we chose Los Angeles FC as one of the favorites to dethrone Columbus Crew as MLS kings. We stand by it, but they need to start winning crucial games like these. Los Angeles Galaxy has a lot to improve defensively, but LAFC is not the best team to try new things.
Both teams will score, but LAFC will come on top.
Score Prediction: LAFC 2, Los Angeles Galaxy 1
