Thompson vs Neal UFC Betting: Main Event
Stephen Thompson
Stephen Thompson (15-4-1) looks to improve his status in the division. Coming into this fight, he ranks as the fifth-best fighter within the welterweight division. Although it was some time back, his most recent performance was a decision victory against Vincente Luque in November of 2019.
Looking at his fighting resume and preparing for your UFC betting, it reveals seven wins by knockout, one by submission, and seven by decision. When looking further into his knockouts, he has five of his seven that have been finished in the first round.
“Wonderboy” strikes with an accuracy of around 44 percent and has a grappling accuracy of 45 percent. He delivers about 3.93 significant strikes a minute while taking on 2.73.
You have to like this ratio here for a fighter ranked in the top five, and he still has room to grow.
Thompson defends against takedowns at 78 percent and has about an average significant strike defense at 59 percent. He also has been able to average 0.36 takedowns within 15 minutes of fight time.
Geoff Neal
Geoff Neal (13-2-0) is looking to knock heads off and prove himself since he is currently ranked 11th in the welterweight division. He is on a great pace, especially with a seven-fight winning streak moving into this event.
Looking into his fighting resume, it shows him having eight wins by knockout, two by submission, and three by decision. He also has six of those victories ending in the first round, with a combination of knockouts and submissions, of course.
“Handz of Steel” strikes with an accuracy of 49 percent and has a grappling accuracy of 50 percent. He delivers an excellent 6.04 significant strikes a minute and takes on only 3.57.
If he can continue to dominate at this pace, he will be a dangerous fighter, no doubt. However, this ratio should come down as he has more fights within the UFC.
Neal defends against takedowns so far at 92 percent and defends against significant strikes at 65 percent. He also averages roughly 0.85 takedowns and 0.40 submissions every 15 minutes.

Thompson vs Neal UFC Betting: Potential Winning Pick
You could not ask for a more exciting matchup than one between these two fighters. They definitely have characteristics of top-level fighters, especially Thompson, but both will perform great here.
Thompson has not had the outcomes he wanted in three of his previous five fights. To give him some sort of credit, his losses were to other excellent fighters such as Tyron Woodley, Darren Till, and Anthony Pettis.
Neal has been great so far, coming in undefeated since he stepped foot in the UFC. It also helps that he is the younger and arguably more athletic fighter with a mad streak going on right now.
Look for this matchup to primarily have each fighter staying active on their feet. You can expect a very solid striking performance with both looking for a knockout. Neal is a very solid choice here, especially with the momentum he has and his striking ability. Keep up to date on the UFC betting odds and make your bet before Saturday.
