UFC 243: Whittaker vs. Adesanya
Saturday, October 5th - 10:00PM ET
Marvel Stadium, Docklands, Australia

The UFC returns to Australia where Robert Whittaker returns to action to defend his middleweight title against interim champion Israel Adesanya. Al Iaquinta takes on Dan Hooker in the co-main event. Fan favorite, Tai Tuivasa faces Serghei Spivac in a heavyweight bout to round out the top three fights on the card.

Robert Whittaker (-125) vs. Israel Adesanya (-105)

Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya have very different fighting styles. Whittaker is an in-four-face boxer that packs serious power in his punches. Whittaker has an incredible chin as evidenced by his all-out brawls with Yoel Romero.

Whittaker is riding a 9-0 winning streak. He's defeated Romer (twice), Jacare Souza, Derek Brunson, Rafael, Natal, among others.

The Last Stylebender is a dynamic striker that likes to attack from angles. He attacks like a cobra: quick and accurately. Adesanya is coming off a potential Fight of the Year against Kelvin Gastelum. It was the biggest test of the young fighter's career.

Adesanya is 17-0 in his career. He holds wins over Gastelum, Anderson Silva, Derek Brunson, Brad Tavares, and more.

Adesanya survived Gastelum, but he was definitely touched. Gastelum hurt Adesanya on several occasions. If Whittaker hits him like Gastelum did, it's lights out for Israel.

Adesanya doesn't have the power to knock out Robert Whittaker. Whittaker, on the other hand, does have the power to end Adesanya's night. My money's on Bobby Knuckles to retain his middleweight strap.

Outside of the main event, there isn't really much to get excited about on this card. I, like many, am a big fan of Tai Tuivasa (-375). I'll be looking to him to deliver an exciting finish over Sergey Spivak (+275).

Al Iaquinta (+110) is a legit fighter with real wrestling chops. Daniel Hooker is coming off a first round finish of James Vick. I'm taking Raging Al to bounce back from a loss to Cowboy Derrone and score a win in the Land Down Under.
