Saturday, January 18th - 10:00PM ET
T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV
Network: ESPN+ PPV

Conor McGregor returns to action next Saturday, January 18th in a fight for the fans. The Notorious (21-4-0)will headline UFC 246 in a welterweight bout against Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (36-12-0). This will be a fight between two excellent strikers with a very fan-friendly style.

Conor McGregor (-325) vs. Donald Cerrone (+245)

Expect Cowboy to lead the offensive with McGregor picking his shots in the counter-game. Cowboy is a brilliant striker that throws highl effective combinations. Cowboy has 10 wins by knockout and 17 wins by submission. He puts fighters away with carefully placed strikes mixed in quick and effective combos.

Cerrone is coming off a first round TKO loss to Justin Gathje and a second round TKO loss to Tony Ferguson before that.

Cowboy boasts an impressive resume with wins over Al Iaquinta, Mike Perry, Yancy Medeiros, Matt Brown, Rick Story, Benson Henderson, Eddie Alvarez, and more. However, Cowboy's biggest fights have often ended to his detriment. Gathje, Ferguson, Edwards, Till, Masvidal, dos Anjos, Lawler. These fighters all hold wins over Cowboy.

There aren't many holes in Cowboy's game, but one of them plays right into Conor's hand. We've seen Cerrone buckle to body shots in the past. Conor McGregor's spinning heel kick can cause some damage if he catches his opponent.

It's been over three year's since we've seen McGregor's hands raised in the octagon. The time and his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov has made people forget just how good he is. Cowboy is not Khabib. They have polar opposite fighting styles. Cowboy won't be wrestling Conor, though he does hold the advantage on the ground.

McGregor's performance against Dustin Poirier may be a more appropriate comparisson. Conor finished him in the first. His most impressive performance, however, was against Eddie Alvarez, who he absolutely dismantled.

Conor will catch Cowboy with his laser left and work him to a finish. This fight will end with Cowboy on his back and the refs pulling McGregor off him.

Holly Holm (-135) will take on Raquel Pennington (+105) in the co-main event. Aleksei Oleinik (+105)  will face Maurice Greene (-135) in a heavyweight bout. Also on the card are Anthony Pettis (+200) vs. Diego Ferreira (-260), Andre Fili (+105) vs. Sodiq Yussuf (-135), and Roxanne Modaferri (+600) vs. Maycee Barber (-1000).
