MLB Specials Odds & Betting Lines

MLB offers a wide range of specials that gamblers have an opportunity to find. MLB Specials vary, as there have been some unique specials in the past. The most recent example of an MLB Special that was unique was the renaming of the Cleveland Indians.

The MLB Special for this was what the new name for the Cleveland team would be at the start of the 2022 MLB season.

Gamblers can find MLB Specials for many parts of the MLB season, including regular season and postseason specials. So there will be plenty of options for bettors to make a wager when looking over the MLB Specials. A few examples of MLB Specials that one may find are:

  • Will there be a first-time World Series winner?
  • Which division will the World Series winner come from?
  • Which league will the World Series winner come from?
  • Which state will the World Series winner come from?

Brief History of MLB

The Major League Baseball regular season is composed of 162 games played during the year against the 30 teams in the league. Since 1903, MLB has been divided into two leagues, the American League (AL) and the National League (NL).

Both leagues signed a national agreement in 1903  to be combined under the MLB banner and start a championship title game known as the World Series, which has the best team of the AL face the best team from the NL.

While MLB has changed a lot over the years, with more teams and games being played now than back in 1903, it has still been a pastime sport that all Americans love and enjoy to this day.

MLB has three phases of its season: Spring Training, the MLB regular season, and the MLB postseason. Spring Training allows for teams to bring in talent from their farm system to evaluate them, seeing if they are ready for the big league of MLB.

During the training period, MLB teams can split their teams into two squads to play two games in one day, with a portion playing on one squad and the remaining players playing on the other squad.

The regular season is the meat of the MLB, with 162 games played to determine which teams will make it to the MLB postseason and the World Series. The current MLB format for the 2022 postseason will have 12 teams, six from the AL and six from the NL, going against each other for a chance to reach the World Series.

The top two division winners from the AL and NL will get a bye, while the three wild card teams and the lowest-ranked division winner play a best of three series against each other.

The two winners of the best of three series will then face the top two division winners in a best of five series. The winners of those series will then face each other in a best of five series, with that winner going on to the World Series.

The World Series will be against the AL champions and the NL champions in a best of seven series, with the winner taking home the biggest prize in all of baseball, the World Series trophy.

How to Bet on MLB Specials

MLB Specials can be somewhat unique regarding the MLB odds that you can find on them. Some offer an excellent opportunity for gamblers when they bet on MLB Specials. The renaming of the Cleveland Indians gave many gamblers that were knowledgeable of the city of Cleveland a chance to cash in on this MLB Special.

The Guardians were always the underdog as the next name for the baseball team out of Cleveland. However, those that knew about the history of the guardians of traffic in Cleveland knew this would be the next name of their beloved baseball team.

An early MLB bet on the Guardians name netted gamblers around $1,000 for every $100 they wagered.

While not every bet on MLB Specials will end up like that one, a knowledge of the history of what the special is on does help give the edge to the gambler. A great example of doing research for an MLB Special would be a special on if there will be a first-time winner of the World Series.

A search into the history of teams in the World Series would be the first place to look.

For this example, you can find that a YES for a first-time World Series winner is at +325 while a NO for a first-time champion is at -450. Looking at the history of teams that have won a World Series out of the 30 teams in MLB, only six teams have never won the World Series.

The San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers, Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, and Tampa Bay Rays are the teams that have yet to win a World Series.

Of those six teams that don’t have a World Series title, only one has never been to the World Series. That one team is the Seattle Mariners. So with this in mind, only 20% of the league has never won a World Series title, meaning the chances of a first-time winner is low.

However, the Rays stand the best chance of making one more World Series appearance, as they have done this in recent history.

While odds can be tempting for gamblers to take, it requires a deep study of the chances of the bet on MLB Specials to be successful. Other specials might have better luck when you look at the teams and leagues involved. Remember that MLB odds on specials will move as the season progresses.

So if a team that hasn’t won a World Series has the best record in baseball during the season, MLB odds for the first-time World Series winner might start to shift.

Early betting on MLB Specials can give gamblers the best MLB odds but a higher risk of losing the wager. When doing any early betting on these specials, look at the history of previous MLB seasons and rosters of the teams.

Any trades, retirements, call-ups, or signings can affect how a team plays during the season.

It will be vital that you examine these things beforehand and look at the statistical history of the chances of the special paying off at the end of things. A team winning back-to-back World Series titles is somewhat rare but has happened before in MLB.

The New York Yankees are the only team in MLB history to have won the World Series five years in a row. When you look at who the Yankees had on their roster for those five years, you will see why they could accomplish that feat.

That is why it will be vital to look at every team’s roster and what their stats have been over the years. Look to see if the player is regressing over the years or improving. Doing these specific things can help you with your chances of a bet on MLB Specials.

MLB Specials Faqs

BetUS has many different MLB Specials available to bet on along with good odds for gamblers to take advantage of. BetUS also allows for the use of cryptocurrency to place your MLB bets. That’s what makes BetUS a good option to bet on MLB Specials online.
On the sportsbook part of the BetUS site, click on BASEBALL. From there, scroll down to the section labeled MLB SPECIALS. From there, a list of all the available MLB Specials will be shown, along with the odds. All you would need to do is click on the odds of the special that you wish to wager on to have it added to your bet slip. You will then need to confirm the wager from your bet slip, so after that’s done, your stake will be in.
Yes! With any type of sports betting, you can always use some strategies. The same goes for MLB Specials.
MLB odds will be assigned to each MLB Special based on what oddsmakers think the chances are on these specials. When looking at the odds numbers, you will see either a plus or minus sign. There is also the abbreviation EV; this means even odds. Specials with plus odds are the underdog while specials with negative odds are the favorite; if the special is a toss-up, there will be even odds for that special. While most specials will have plus odds, some may have negative odds.
Look at the wagering aspect; you will get even money for every $100 bet with EV odds, so even odds will get you $200 on a $200 wager. You will get the amount shown for every $100 bet with plus odds, so +300 will get you $300 on a $100 wager. Negative odds show how much you have to wager to win $100, so -500 odds mean you need to wager $500 to win $100.
