NBA Specials Betting Odds & Lines

Overview

NBA Specials can be a really fun way to bet a few (or a lot) on the NBA without having to bet on a particular game or championship outcome. Betting on the NBA regular season is fun and there are plenty of options, but we love to keep things fresh with futures betting. NBA specials can be really unique non-game related items such as:

Who will be on the cover of NBA 2K23?

This is always a fun one to bet on because it usually is both a surprise, but also kind of predictable in terms of the player selected by EA Sports. The player they select usually will have had a great couple of seasons and is an up-and-comer, so you really should get this one right, but there are also some surprises sometimes! Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks was rightfully selected for the NBA 2K22 cover, but on certain 75th Anniversary limited edition bundles or copies, it’s featuring Dirk Nowitzki, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Kevin Durant. This special anniversary bundle muddied things a little when it comes to betting on the cover athlete, but Luka is the winner outright.

First Coach to Get Fired in the 2021-22 Season

This special doesn’t feel so special as we usually aren’t putting money down on which coaches should lose their jobs, but hey, we’re all sports fans so when our favorite team is tanking and needs new management, we might just wish for it! We list the NBA odds for the coaches most likely to get the boot, based on how awful their teams are performing and how they are managing the court.

Which team will a player play for next?

Free agency is a really fun time for certain players – they get to weigh their options. Let’s not forget the highly publicized and televised “The Decision” of 2010 featuring LeBron James and his choice to head to Miami instead of staying in his hometown, Cleveland. That televised circus really made free agency speculation and rumors what they are today, and we don’t mind because it certainly draws bettors’ attention!

These are just a few examples of popular NBA Specials you can find on the site throughout the season so keep an eye out for plenty more as the season kicks off!

NBA Specials Betting Guide

The NBA is one of the most exciting North American professional sports, but with so many games in a season, you might get overwhelmed and want to bet on some outcomes that might be a little rare.

While you can bet on standard betting options like moneylines, totals, and point spreads on any regular season or playoff game, you can also bet on unique options called NBA Specials. These betting options allow you to bet on entertaining or unique instances that occur during a game.

NBA Specials are a great way to bet NBA games without having to bet on the game’s final outcome.

It can be time-consuming to handicap each and every NBA game and if you aren’t familiar with the teams themselves you may find yourself in a bind or you could be making poor betting decisions. If you’re not quite certain on a particular wager, you don’t want to bet on NBA odds for the sake of betting.

Betting on NBA specials can be a great way to make some money betting on not-so-exciting games, especially when you’re betting on games that might be too close in score to bet on point spreads or might be too risky for totals betting.

When it comes to betting on NBA specials, you will have a variety of options

And each option will resemble the usual plain jane betting options but will reflect an outcome within the game. For instance, you can bet on a player to get a certain number of points and this will be framed as a totals wager, asking you if you think the point total for that player will be over or under the set line.

You can bet on the total of each quarter, which means you would bet on how many points are scored in each of the four quarters (four separate wagering opportunities), or even bet on which team will ‘win’ each quarter.

This means if you know a team is strong early on but tends to slow down in the second half, you could bet on them to win the first quarter only, and your bet would cash without them having to win the game outright. Many sports bettors will use these NBA Specials to double down on their game wagers, such as betting on the Lakers to win and bet on a particular Laker player to score, as well as the Lakers to win certain quarters.

These NBA special wagers allow you to place bets with so much more variety, and you can parlay these NBA betting types to make things more interesting, betting on aspects of the game itself and not just the final outcome.

You won’t be able to place parlays on conflicting specials, as it would prevent your bet slip from winning.

Game specials aren’t the only option – you can bet on season specials as well, which are similar to futures wagers and include a variety of things that might occur (or not) during the season. These betting types will last usually throughout the season until the outcome occurs. If the outcome does not occur, your bet will not cash.

You can bet on instances regarding team management or player’s contracts, such as predicting whether or not a coach will be fired in the upcoming season. Usually, you have some idea if a coach has been underperforming and making poor coaching decisions, and while this is an unfortunate thing to bet on, it can be quite easy to predict if you pay attention to NBA team management updates and news.

Another interesting NBA special has to do with the NBA Draft.

You can bet on the team a player will sign to next, or where a hot prospect coming up from college basketball will end up playing. When a player reaches free agency, they begin meeting with other teams and discuss a trade. As soon as a player is up for grabs, there are odds released on where that player will end up playing.

Another fun NBA Special that has nothing to do with the season or have any effect on the league, is predicting which player will be on the cover of next year’s EA Sports NBA game.

Each year, a different player earns the honor of being featured on the cover, and you can try to predict who will be chosen.
Betting on NBA Specials can be a really fun way to make the season a little more fun and exciting. You can follow along with popular NBA odds, and take advantage of the odds on these exciting and unique betting options.

You can bet on NBA Specials right here at BetUS Sportsbook. With the best variety of NBA specials in the U.S., as well as the most competitive odds, you have everything you need in one place.

NBA Specials aren’t offered at every U.S. sportsbook. Finding a sportsbook like BetUS that provides the most competitive and up to date odds makes for a perfect fit.
NBA specials are betting options that have nothing to do with the final outcome of the game. You can find the odds listed over on the BetUS Sportsbook, and place a wager on the instance you believe will occur.
The Brooklyn Nets are currently the favorite to win the Eastern Conference Championship. The Golden State Warriors are the favorite to win the Western Conference Championship.

Just make sure you are betting on options that you’re familiar with. NBA specials betting is straightforward, the odds usually are pretty easy to understand, but make sure you aren’t betting on outcomes on the fly without any research.
You can combine more than two NBA specials on the betslip and this will combine the odds into one bigger wager, which will ultimately pay out more. But you will have to win all legs of your wager – meaning bet 1, 2, and 3 will all have to be correct for you to win any prize.
