Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets Betting Odds and Lines

Halloween 2021. It was on that date in which the New York Jets took the fight to Joe Burrow and the Bengals and handed them their third loss of the season.

Of course, the Bengals would continue to Super Bowl LVI, while the Jets, well, you know how the story goes with New York and football.

Now, as they get set to lock up once again at MetLife Stadium, home of the Jets, will New York take flight once again? After scoring an impressive comeback win against the Browns in Cleveland, the Jets are poised to make it two in a row against AFC North rivals. But what will Joe Burrow & Co. have to say about it? Let’s run down this matchup.

Saleh Started Collecting Receipts, New York Started Winning

Being the head coach for the New York Jets is not an easy job. If you don’t believe us, just ask Adam Gase. Or don’t, that man should be left alone as far away from football as possible.

Second-year Jets coach Robert Saleh has not had it easy during his tenure with New York, but that hasn’t stopped him from believing that the Jets have a true chance to turn everything around and become a functional football team.

While New York looked bleak in its Week 1 loss against the Ravens, in Week 2, the Jets took flight with a stirring comeback.

Led by league veteran and AFC North connoisseur QB Joe Flacco and rookie star WR Garrett Wilson, New York left Ohio with the win.

Flacco looked like a man possessed playing against Cleveland at some points. He orchestrated New York’s offense in only a way a veteran QB can against a Browns defense that usually dominates. Now, against Cincinnati, will he be able to do it again?

Jets fans should be beyond excited with how this offense is shaping up. With rookies Wilson and Breece Hall leading the pack, New York is starting to play some exciting football. It’s the Jets’ defense where they’ll need to bring the heat if they want to score their first win at home.

Rookie CB Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner and fellow corner DJ Reed will need to play some masterful football down the field while covering Ja’Marr Chase.

And up front? New York’s front seven cannot allow Burrow to find his groove in the pocket, it’s as simple as that.

Is the Bengals Magic Starting to Fizzle Out?

Don’t look now, but the Bengals are 0-2. Yes, the same “Cinderella Story” Bengals from last season. After losing in Week 1 against the Steelers and in Week 2 against the Cowboys, Cincinnati is starting to feel the heat from being last in its division.

But not all should be drama for the Bengals. When you have an offense with players like Burrow, Chase, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon it’s only a matter of time before things start to turn around.

Still, if there’s any lesson in both of their losses in the season, it’s that the Bengals need to learn how to finish games.

Against Pittsburgh and Dallas, both games were decided via last-second field goals. What does this show? That the Bengals should focus on starting strong and finishing stronger.

Against New York, the Bengals’ defense will need to keep a close eye on what Wilson can do down the field.

The Jets’ offensive line is still a work in progress, which could end up being a key for Cincinnati’s defense to thrive, but if they allow Wilson any spaces in the open field, they will end up paying big time.

Last week New York showed that it can play down to the wire if needed. So, considering how Cincinnati lost its previous games, letting up toward the end is not an option.

Will The Bengals Roar or Will The Jets Take Flight?

Burrow has all the chops to continue on his path toward becoming one of the best QBs in the league. With that said, after New York’s miraculous comeback win against Cleveland, it will be hard for the Bengals to stop the Jets and their hype.

Score a close win for New York here. Sorry Bengals, maybe next week will be better.
