The Tampa Bay Buccaneers attempt to go for three wins in a row for the first time this season by downing the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.
Bucs Tiptoeing on the Edge of Playoffs
Chalk it up to whatever you want, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be out of their mid-season funk. After a disastrous start to the year that left them at 3-5, the Buccaneers are 2-0 in the last two games and in a great spot to go for three in a row coming off a bye.
Three weeks back, they beat the defending champion Los Angeles Rams and earned a tough victory over a surging Seattle Seahawks team in Week 10.
The game, which went down in Munich, was one of Tom Brady’s most memorable, according to him. His team returned to .500, and Brady remained undefeated in games outside of the USA.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Buccaneers pounced and scored 14 unanswered points before halftime. Seattle fought back and brought the game within five points but never once led against Tampa Bay.
Brady was 22-for-29 with 258 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He was also 0-for-1 as a receiver after falling down and giving the Seahawks an easy interception on Leonard Fournette’s pass.
Rachaad White emerged as the leading rusher in Week 10 with 105-yards on 22 carries. Fournette saw just 14 touches but scored the one rushing touchdown. Fournette is questionable for Sunday with a sore hip.
Browns 1-6 in Last Seven Games
Anything that could go wrong has for the Cleveland Browns this season. Perhaps acquiring and signing a quarterback that would eventually be suspended to a huge deal wasn’t the best idea.
Their most recent failure came at the hands of the Buffalo Bills 31-23. It was close, but in the end, Josh Aleen hit Stefon Diggs for a 5-yard go-ahead touchdown to seal the game for Buffalo, which was both the home and away team, as this game was played on neutral ground in Detroit.
Give Cleveland credit for rallying to get the game within eight points that set up for a potential onside kick recovery. Gabe Davis muffed the kick before Taiwan Jones knocked it out of bounds.
QB Jacoby Brissett finished 28-of-41 for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Amari Cooper put in work with 113 yards and two touchdowns.
However, the rushing game let them down, with just 80 combined yards between Kareem Hunt, Nick Chubb, and Brissett.
David Njoku is still questionable as of Wednesday with ankle and knee issues. He did not practice today.
Buccaneers vs Browns Prediction
The Browns have some tricks up their sleeve and a few scary talented guys on offense. But the reality is that, overall, this is a terrible team.
The Bucs have played like a terrible team this season, but they have a lot more to work with than Cleveland.
With the spread slim, the Buccaneers are a smart bet on the road against a team that has been crumbling for weeks.
