The world’s biggest names in tennis are still alive at the Australian Open, where Jannik Sinner is now the +110 favorite with Australian Open odds.

The Italian star, and world No. 1, hasn’t been tested yet and he looks like a good bet as we approach the second week of the Grand Slam tournament.
Sinner Heavy Men’s Favorite at Australian Open
Business as Usual for World No. 1
It has been business as usual for Sinner, who remains the tournament favorite with tennis odds. The Italian has dropped only two sets on his way to the quarterfinals, and we can’t see him dropping too many more sets.
Up next is a match against Alex de Minaur on Tuesday and he’s likely to face a top player in the semifinals, which will be harder. However, there is no doubting that he’s the best player in the world at the moment.

The defending champion already has two Grand Slam titles to his name, and after beating Marcos Giron in straight sets in the third round and Holgen Rune in the fourth round, bettors have no reason to jump off his back.
“Every match has its own difficulties. I still have room to improve, but every win is great,” said 23-year-old Sinner. “If I want to go on in this tournament I have to improve.”
He doesn’t need to improve much, and although the +125 pre-tourney odds once available are gone, he’s still a value tennis pick.
Big Match Between Alcaraz vs Djokovic
The first men’s quarterfinal match will be between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, and it doesn’t get much bigger than that.
Djokovic is the +165 underdog with Australian Open betting markets, which is a generous price for arguably the best player to ever step on court. However, Alcaraz is much younger and he’s ready to show why he’s one of the best in the world.
It hasn’t been easy for Alcaraz recently, losing matches he should win. However, if he’s at his best, he should beat the 37-year-old Djokovic, who has slowed down, as many older tennis players inevitably do.
The winner of this match will be well-placed at the Australian Open. However, the winner will likely need to beat Sinner to get their hands on the title. That’s the task facing Alcaraz and Djokovic, in what could be the match of the tournament.
Our tennis prediction is for at least four sets being played at Melbourne Tennis Park, and although Djokovic at the odds is attractive, Alcaraz (-200) should be moving on to the semifinals.
Americans Headed by Ben Shelton
We didn’t expect Ben Shelton to be the best American player left in the draw after Taylor Fritz was upset by a resurgent Gael Monfis.
Shelton is good enough to beat some of the world’s best players and he’s a current +2200 chance to win the tournament. It would be great to see him making the finals, and although it’s a hard road, he’s capable.
Fellow American Tommy Paul is still in contention but Alex Michelsen’s surprise run ended in the fourth round against de Minaur. Paul has a big forehand that he has been putting to good use. He’s a +4000 chance to win the Australian Open, but he has a difficult test in Monday’s quarterfinal against No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev.
For those who bet online, Paul is +210 against Zverev. Of the Americans, Shelton is worth a bet to win the tournament.
