Australian Open Women’s Update: Tight at Top

Our tennis bet predictions look good at the 2024 Australian Open Women’s, the tournament is wide-open heading into the quarterfinals with top seed Iga Swiatek ousted.

As the Round of Eight approaches, Aryna Sabalenka has become the betting choice at +140, thanks to the exit of Swiatek. Right behind Sabalenka is American star Coco Gauff, who sits at +160.

Sabalenka Showing Up

The major problem with Sabalenka is that she chokes in the big matches, but she couldn’t have been more impressive in the second round.

The Belarussian won 6-0, 6-0, and that doesn’t often happen at the Grand Slam level, especially against a ranked opponent. She also rolled into the quarterfinals with a straight-sets victory.

She wasn’t featured at the top of our tennis picks, but after that performance, she might have turned the corner.

It’s a soft women’s field for the Australian Open, and there are no dominant players in the mix. Therefore, someone like Sabalenka could win in sport betting markets.

Gauff Coming of Age

Gauff showed her ability when winning the 2023 US Open, and she could win consecutive grand slam titles.

The American teenager is going from strength-to-strength at the elite level, and although she has some holes in her game, her backhand and first serve are doing their job.

She breezed into the quarterfinals. She has received a good draw being the fourth seed, so she should make a deep run into the finals.

There has been solid betting online support for the likeable player, who firmed into +160. That’s a solid move for Gauff, and she could give the two favorites a run for their money.

Any Underdog Hopes?

The next-best backer player is Qinwen Zheng, but we can’t see any upsets coming from the outsiders.

The rest of the betting market lacks the class to beat the top betting elects
