The French Open championship match was a mismatch. World No. 1 Iga Swiatek dominated Coco Gauff on Saturday at Roland Garros, 6-1, 6-3, for the clay-court title.
There is no shame in the way the American teen lost in 68 minutes.
Swiatek has proven unstoppable no matter who the Polish star faces on the court.
She has now won 35 matches in a row. That equals the run Venus Williams had in 2000.
Swiatek is 9-0 in finals this year and has swept 18 sets in the run. Magical playing.
Iga Swiatek has now won 18 consecutive sets in finals, has not lost more than 5 games in her last 9 finals.

The 21-year-old has won two majors. She isn’t in line for a single-year Grand Slam because Ashleigh Barty won the Australian Open, the year’s first major.
Swiatek is the youngest 2-time major champion since Maria Sharapova, who won her second major title at the 2006 US Open. She was 19.
Overall in 2022, she is 42-3. Her last loss came in February to Jelena Ostapenko in Dubai.
