Williams has not played in a tournament since being injured at the All-England Club in a match last year.
Her name did not appear on the women’s singles entry list released earlier this month. Play in the main draw of the tournament begins on June 27.
Williams was among six women given a spot in the singles draw, along with five British players: Katie Boulter, Jodie Burrage, Sonay Kartal, Yuriko Miyazaki and Katie Swan.

Williams is seeking her 24th Grand Slam title, which has proven elusive.
She needed a wild-card invite due to her inactivity. She is currently ranked No. 1,208th in the WTA rankings.
This marks the 20th anniversary of her first Wimbledon victory. Her other singles titles came in 2003, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2016.
