Svitolina Desperate for Dubai Success

Stellar Field Heads to Next Stop on WTA Tour

One of the biggest WTA events of the year is the Dubai Championships, which is headlined by a quality field of tennis stars.

Looking to turn her form around is Elina Svitolina, who has been well-favored in tennis betting markets. However, there is strong competition from the likes of Danielle Collins and Aryna Sabalenka.

Focus Back on Tennis

The focus is firmly back on winning tennis tournaments for Svitolina, who married ATP star Gael Monfils a couple weeks ago.

She wasn’t happy with the way she got knocked out of the Australian Open by Viktoria Azarenka, so the Ukrainian has plenty to prove.

“We are still practicing sometimes together,” Svitolina said. “We are talking about tennis sometimes. Sometimes trying not to talk too much about tennis. I mean, for tennis nothing really changed.”

Her recent results have been sub-par and she has fallen out of the top 10, so a strong performance in Dubai is needed to regain confidence.

Once a potential Grand Slam-winning player, Svitolina has since regressed. However, the talent is there, and without Ashleigh Barty in the field, the title is there for the taking.

The 27-year-old Svitolina is paying healthy odds with the sportsbook and she is worth following.

Collins Backing Up Aussie Success

She might have been beaten in the final, but Danielle Collins’ performance at the Australian Open was nothing short of incredible.

Losing in the final to Barty is a step in the right direction for the American, especially after a tough year that included emergency surgery for endometriosis.

“It feels incredible. I think especially after some of the health challenges that I’ve had, to be able to get back to this level and be able to compete the way that I have been, being able to be as physical as I have been has been so rewarding,” Collins told CNN.com.

Conditions in Dubai favor the hard-hitting player, who was gifted with a much easier first-round opponent than she originally had. Collins was initially set to face former champion Garbine Muguruza.

She now takes on Marketa Vondrousova, which is a much easier task. We expect Collins to make another deep run and continue her fine 2022.

Betting markets have generous odds for Collins, so she is worth backing with confidence.

Top Seed Eyeing Improvement

It hasn’t been a strong start to 2022 for top-seeded Sabalenka, who was beaten in the fourth round in Melbourne.

The Belarusian has been struggling with her serve, which used to be an asset. She is looking to improve at the Dubai Tennis Championships, and being the top-ranked player has its advantages.

With class on her side, we expect the two-time Grand Slam doubles champion to have success. Sabalenka only needs to find her serve to put pressure on her opponents.

“We worked a lot on serve,” Sabalenka said. “But it’s not about my serve. If you see me serving on the practice court, it’s perfect. It’s (an) amazing serve.

“I think it’s all about in here,” she added, while pointing to her head. “I was thinking a lot on my serve. I was, I tried to control everything and this is not how it works. I have muscle memory and I just have to trust myself.”

Bettors are hoping she puts the demons aside and serves well in Dubai. She is the +700 favorite to hoist the title, so the pressure is on.
