Underdogs Who Could Shake Up Wimbledon 2025

These Players Are Poised to Deliver Upsets and Contend for the Title

The Grass Is Greener on the Other Side

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are the prohibitive favorites according to the most recent Wimbledon betting odds, but there are more appealing options available if you are open to a dark horse candidate hoisting the trophy at the All England Lawn Tennis Championships.

Do You Believe in Miracles?

Two young men, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, are ushering in another golden age of tennis as the most recent iteration, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic, exit the stage.

Although Carlos Alcaraz’s stats include winning the last two Wimbledon titles, while Jannik Sinner has been his greatest nemesis, both have made their own headlines and tennis news, but there are still 126 other options. And if you believe the tennis rumors circulating, some could stand a chance as we peruse the 2025 Wimbledon schedule.

Below, we will roll the dice on three players to pull off the improbable upset. As Al Michaels extolled at the 1980 Miracle on Ice, “Do you believe in miracles?” I do, so let’s see what the Wimbledon results may be in a few weeks from now.

Wimbledon: Top 3 Players to Watch

1. Novak Djokovic (+600)

It feels a little like cheating to put the illustrious Novak Djokovic on this list, but he’s long in the tooth and ready to retire. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old has won Wimbledon seven times in his career, with the most recent occurring in 2022. He is arguably the greatest to ever play the game, yet Father Time remains undefeated, and we will likely see the Wimbledon scores showing Carlos Alcaraz (+120) or Jannik Sinner (+190) defeating the legend when it’s all said and done.

2. Jack Draper (+1600)

There is no doubt the homegrown favorite will have the crowd on his side when he takes the lush, plush of Wimbledon. The 23-year-old lefty has been improving, as evidenced by his two fourth-round finishes at the French and Australian Open this year. He was also a semifinalist at the US Open last year, so don’t expect him to be cannon fodder at this tournament. The boy can ball.

3. Jakub Mensik (+6600)

If you want to live dangerously and take a walk on the wild side, then you could do much worse than the 19-year-old Czech, Jakub Mensik. He has a signature win over Djokovic and has played on all the main stages. Last year, he entered his first Wimbledon tournament and was summarily bounced in the first round by Russian Alexander Bublik in five sets.

But don’t let that deter you from betting on him. After all, he wouldn’t be 66-1 if all the squares were lining up on him. The boy is not exactly chopped liver, currently ranked No. 17 in the world, and he could have enough youthful optimism to do the unexpected.
