What Should Bettors From Tennis in 2024?

The first grand slam of the year isn’t far away, and there are tennis betting odds available for all the major 2024 events.

We expect another big year in tennis, where Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz could battle for the world number one spot.

There should also be plenty of action in the women’s draw, where Iga Swiatek is in a good position to assert her dominance.

Djokovic Dominance

We see no signs of Djokovic slowing down after winning three grand slam titles in 2023, losing out only at Wimbledon to Alcaraz.

The Serbian is already past the age most players retire, but he refuses to take a step backward, and we expect the sportsbook to have him at short odds throughout the year.

He’s the favorite to win the 2024 Australian Open in Melbourne, and rightfully so. His record at the Australian Open is incredible, and there’s little reason to back against him in the scorching heat.

There will come a time when he can’t keep up, but he’s still the fittest player on the ATP Tour, and he recently earned the praise of John McEnroe.

He (Djokovic) is one of the most remarkable athletes you will see in any sport in every way possible,” McEnroe said. “The drive, the hunger, the will he still has after all his achievements is crazy. He is one in a billion.

Bettors should expect to see more Djokovic dominance in 2024, and our tennis predictions have him winning another two or three grand slams.

Success for Sinner

Jannik Sinner is one of the more talented players in tennis, and after a massive 2023 for the Italian youngster, he could take the next step in 2024.

He tested the best players in the world, and although he wasn’t good enough to win a grand slam, he’s a winner in waiting.

2024 could be his time to strike, and bettors often get value betting online odds for the 22-year-old, who is still maturing.

He achieved his best grand slam finish with a semifinal appearance at Wimbledon. Although he’s yet to reach a final, we believe that will come in 2024, and the odds for him to achieve that feat are juicy.

We expect him to be around +750 for most grand slam events, so take that tennis betting line.

Swiatek’s Time to Shine

Iga Swiatek has been at the top of women’s tennis for a few years but hasn’t taken the bull by the horns.

The Polish 22-year-old is a four-time grand slam winner, with three of them coming at Roland Garros. However, she has enough ability to become a 10-time winner if she stays focused on hard courts.

It could be a huge year for Swiatek, who is often the tennis odds favorite to win most tournaments. She has had some competition from Aryna Sabalenka, but Swiatek has a clear class advantage, especially in big matches.

Her best surface is clay, but she made the semifinal in Australia in 2022 before winning the US Open later in the year.

There is no better time to be a female tennis player. There are no dominant players, but Swiatek could rise to another level in 2024.

American Tennis Resurgence

American tennis was dead in the water for a few years, but there has been a resurgence, which is set to continue.

Coco Gauff is now a grand slam champion, so she is leading the ladies, and there are plenty of men on the improve.

Ben Shelton looks to have a stack of ability, and the likes of Taylor Fritz, J.J. Wolf, and Frances Tiafoe are knocking on the door.

Shelton is the obvious betting pick to be the best American player by the end of 2024. He is 21 years old, so he’s not a teenager, but he has the right build to have a successful career.

We don’t think he’s good enough to win grand slams, but he could pick up a title or two at juicy odds.

Gauff has the ability to win grand slams, and her odds are shortening consistently with betting markets.
