World No.1 Iga Swiatek will take on Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur in the US Open final in primetime on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Two-time French Open champion and top seed Swiatek is seeking to win her second major title in 2022 and third overall. Jabeur, by comparison, is looking to win her first Grand Slam title and become the first Arab woman and African continent representative to join the winner’s circle on tennis’ biggest stage.
Tennis betting markets are in full swing at BetUS Sportsbook. Predictably, Swiatek is the prohibitive favorite at -190 to win and Jabeur is the distinct underdog at +165. The game handicap is set on a 3½-games line while the total is projected to 21½ with the UNDER juiced to -115.

US Open To Win Outright
- Iga Swiatek -190
- Ons Jabeur +165
Jabeur Dismantles Garcia
Jabeur dismantled Cincinnati champion Carolina Garcia in straight sets, needing a little more than an hour to clinch the resounding 6-1, 6-3 win and book her place in her first-ever US Open final.
The 28-year-old Tunisian went into the semifinals as the firm underdog priced at +135, despite boasting the 2-0 head-to-head edge over Garcia in WTA action and having reached the Wimbledon final only a couple of months ago.
In hindsight, Jabeur’s disadvantaged betting online odds look laughable. Garcia was clearly overwhelmed by the occasion and she never quite found her rhythm as Jabeur got off to a fast start. Jabeur didn’t play her best tennis, but she was solid and did enough to get the job done.

Swiatek Overcomes Sabalenka
Swiatek’s been the top favorite at the sportsbook betting exchange right from the start, but her path to the US Open final wasn’t quite as straightforward as the odds would have suggested.
Swiatek was the firm favorite going into the semis, but she was down a set to the Belarusian before she started to settle into her game. It was the second time in the tournament that the World No.1 found herself on the ropes. (Julia Niemeier took a set off Swiatek in the R16.)
Belarus’s Aryna Sabalenka came out firing at all cylinders and took the first set 6-3 before the 21-year-old Polish sensation flipped the script and won the second 6-1 to level the match.
Sabalenka broke early in the third set and seemed to be in control. But Swiatek is the best player this season for a reason and once she broke the Belarusian’s serve, she didn’t look back.

Swiatek vs Sabalenka Prediction
Swiatek and Jabeur are two of the best players on the WTA Tour and as such, either would be a fitting champion at the 2022 US Open.

Swiatek’s been there and done that, so to speak. She has two French Open titles under her belt and that experience is definitely something she can hang her hat on to win a third grand slam career title.
Jabeur might not have a major title to her name, but she was the Wimbledon finalist earlier this summer. By her own admission, it was that experience that showed her she could compete for major titles, which spurs her on today.
Jabeur has played Swiatek close, especially on hard courts where all their matches have gone the distance. If both bring their A-game, this should be another absorbing contest that could go either way.
Swiatek is the favorite and the player most expect to win, but don’t be surprised if Jabeur pulls off the feat and writes herself into the history books.
