Terra Wortmann Open Final: Medvedev vs. Hurkacz
World No.1 and top seed Daniil Medvedev entered the tournament as the player to beat and now he’s one win away from delivering on those lofty expectations.
Medvedev breezed into the final with a straight set victory over Oscar Otte in Saturday’s semifinal. The Russian was tipped as the overwhelming favorite and he backed up those tennis odds with the 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory.
The 26-year-old served at 78% first serves and won 70% of his first serve points. He converted on two of three break points and fought off five of six break points. He was efficient with his second serve, winning 69% of second serve points.

Hurkacz Derails Kyrgios
Hurkacz overcame Nick Kyrgios in a three-set marathon on Saturday to book his fifth career ATP Tour final and first grass-court final. It’s also his first final of the 2022 season.
The fifth seed came from behind to win 4-6, 7-6 (2), 7-6(4). It was a razor-thin victory in a match that really could have gone either way.
Hurkacz enjoyed a stellar serving day, winning 78% of his first serve points. He served 27 aces to Kyrgios’ 30, but he failed to convert on two break point opportunities because Kyrgios was having a standout serving day too.
The difference came down in the tiebreaker. Kyrgios blinked first and Hurkacz held his nerve to win both tiebreakers and see off Kyrgios.

Medvedev vs Hurkacz Tennis Betting Verdict
Medvedev is the bookmakers’ favorite but Hurkacz has the head-to-head edge. Thus, there is value on both sides of the coin for your tennis picks.
Hurkacz’ recent form and success against Medvedev increase the probability for an upset. Certainly, it can’t be ruled out. However, Medvedev is mentally one of the toughest players on the tour. He lost last week’s final in a stunning fashion. He won’t want a repeat.
