Italian Open ATP Picks and Predictions for May 7: Sinner (+200) Best Bet in Return

Tennis odds have Jannik Sinner favored to win in his return to tennis following a suspension, and he’s the one to beat.

The Italian looks to win the Italian Open, and with Carlos Alcaraz dealing with injury concerns, Sinner could return and continue his winning ways in Rome.

3 Picks to Win ATP Italian Open

1. Jannik Sinner +200

ATP tennis odds have Sinner well-supported at +200, but he should be ready to fire and put his three-month suspension for doping behind him. Regardless of what you think of the decision, there’s no doubt that he was playing better tennis than anyone else.

The 2025 Australian Open champion was winning most tournaments he entered, and although his name has been tarnished slightly, he’s the best player in the world.

He’ll have a big Italian crowd behind him in Rome and he could take advantage of a men’s tennis world that is void of a breakout superstar. Novak Djokovic pulled out of the tournament and Alcaraz is dealing with an injury that forced him to skip the event in Madrid.

Sinner tops my tennis picks, and I would be surprised if he didn’t make a deep run.

2. Alex Zverev +1100

Alex Zverev was the top seed at the Madrid Open before losing in the Round 16. It wasn’t a good performance from the German, but I’m backing him to bounce back in a tournament he won last year.

Odds for tennis are all about finding value, and Zverev is a great play at +1100. His odds are high because Sinner and Alcaraz are playing, but with Sinner returning after months off and Alcaraz pulling out last week, that could leave Zverev with a sweet run to the final.

The 28-year-old won the most matches on the ATP Tour in 2024, which means he makes deep runs, so bettors will get a good run for their money.

3. Casper Ruud +2500

Casper Ruud plays his best tennis on clay courts and I’m surprised by his odds. Therefore, he goes into my tennis predictions for the Italian Open.

The 26-year-old won the Madrid Open last week on clay when beating Jack Draper in the final, so I can’t quite understand why he’s not being given respect this week. It’s a harder field, but he’s a world-class player.

He’s the highest-rated Norwegian player of all time, and my ATP picks aren’t leaving him out at massive odds. The +2500 odds are worth including in Italian Open picks.
