Jabeur Dismisses Tomljanovic
Jabeur had all to do when she took on giant-slaying Ajla Tomljanovic in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, but she ultimately persevered in two tight sets, 6-5, 7-6 (4).
The Croatian-born Aussie threw the kitchen sink at Jabeur. Twice she rallied from behind to take the initiative, fighting hard until the last point. She’d survived a three-set marathon with Serena Williams under the lights on Arthur Ashe on Friday night, but she couldn’t keep up with the in-form Jabeur in the end.

Jabeur served up four aces and 41% of first serves, but she won 71% of her first-serve points. She broke Tomljanovic on five of six break-point opportunities and saved two of six break-point opportunities against her.
Garcia Blasts Past Gauff
Garcia overpowered American teenage sensation Coco Gauff in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to book her place in her first Grand Slam semifinal.
Garcia outhit, outshot, and outmuscled the American teenager in a match that was more one-sided than the final score suggested or the betting online odds anticipated would be. The crowd tried to get behind Gauff and spur her on, but she ran out of answers. Garcia has been one of the best players on the WTA Tour in recent weeks.
Garcia served four aces and 51% of the first serve, but she won 77 of her first-serve points. She broke Gauff on three of eight break-point opportunities and defended two of three break-point opportunities against her successfully.

Jabeur vs Garcia Prediction
Although Garcia has never beaten Jabeur, she goes into this semifinal matchup as the firm betting favorite on the tennis odds board.
The Frenchwoman appears to be undeniable right now. She’s playing with confidence and advances into the last four without dropping a set while conceding an average of 5.4 games per match.
And yet, the occasion before her is momentous. She’s never been to a Grand Slam semifinal, let alone a final. This raises the question: Will she be able to handle the nerves of the momentous occasion in order to come through as the favorite?
She might. But one can’t help believe that Jabeur’s stunning run to the Wimbledon final earlier this summer is going to give her an intangible advantage over Garcia. It gives Jabeur valuable experience, preparing her for the opportunity and the tidal wave of emotions that comes with it better.
All told, it’s a total coin toss between them for tennis picks. Both women have an equal shot to come through with the win, more so than the tennis odds would suggest. They’re also both deserving finalists. That said, the value bet is Jabeur on the handicap. Another betting angle that is worth considering, especially by those on the fence, is total. This game could go the distance and push the over 21½ total.
