Sock on Right Foot at Indian Wells

American Headlines Friday parlay

Action is underway at Indian Wells and we have three matches for our Friday tennis parlay.

Headlining our tennis betting selections is Jack Sock, who has been battling back from injury, but he meets an opponent in John Millman who is there for the taking.

We also feature Indian Wells matches involving Andy Murray vs Adrian Mannarino and Dominik Koepfer vs Emil Ruusuvuori.

Sock vs Millman

Bookmakers are having a tough time separating Jack Sock and John Millman, who battle for the first time in their careers.

Sock has won only two of his last five matches, but his most recent loss was a three-set defeat to Alex Zverev, so he has been playing quality opponents.

The American hasn’t played since reaching the third round at the U.S. Open, which was a tidy result, but he once again pulled out due to injury.

“Everyone knows that road back is basically starting over. I didn’t even have a number next to my name for a ranking. There was definitely a real conversation whether we were going to do this or not,” Sock told Tennis World USA.

“Maybe some of my best tennis is still ahead of me, so I’m just trying to prove that one week at a time, one match at a time.”

We believe Sock could be back to his best after the break, and Millman comes off a straight-sets loss at Sofia, which wasn’t a good performance. The Australian is a hot head who has drifted at the sportsbook.

He is currently -115 to beat Sock, who is listed at -105. We’re confident in adding Sock as the first leg of our tennis parlay.

Pick: Jack Sock -105

Murray vs Mannarino

Andy Murray might have had his tennis shoes and wedding ring stolen at Indian Wells, but he’ll be hoping to make peace on the court.

By all accounts his wife wasn’t happy with the situation, but beating Adrian Mannarino in the first round could smooth things over.

Murray, who is on the comeback trail from injury, has been playing solid tennis. The Scot was no match for Casper Ruud at the San Diego Open, but Ruud went on to win the tournament so it’s a good form guide.

He showed form prior when beating the likes of Ugo Humbert and Vasek Pospisil, so he hasn’t had much trouble putting away struggling players like Mannarino.

The Italian has lost four of his last five matches. His only win came in the first round in the U.S. Open, and his most recent loss in Sofia doesn’t bode well.

Betting online markets have Murray -325 to win the match outright, which is a fair price. He shouldn’t have much trouble getting past Mannarino.

The game handicap is -4, but over only two sets, we’re not confident in taking that margin. It’s too close to call, so take the safer option.

Pick: Andy Murray -325

Koepfer vs Ruusuvuori

Emil Ruusuvuori is a value play against Dominik Koepfer. The Finnish player has been steadily rising the ranks and recent showings at the Davis Cup and Nur-Sultan bode well.

He might have lost to James Duckworth at his most recent outing, but Ruusuvuori is a quality player in the making. He also won the most recent meeting with Koepfer in straight sets, which is another positive.

Koepfer has lost three of his last four matches. The only win was a U.S. Open qualifier against an unknown, so he would need to improve his form significantly to take out this match at Indian Wells.

We’re surprised bookmakers have Ruusuvuori at -230 to win. We thought he would be much shorter in betting markets, so we’re loving the odds.

Take Ruusuvuori -3½, which pays better at even odds. He should have no problem progressing to the second round.

Pick: Emil Ruusuvuori -3½ (Ev)
