Match 2: Frances Tiafoe vs Lorenzo Musetti
Saturday, 9 p.m. ET, Tennis Channel, ESPN
Frances Tiafoe must do something he’s never done if Team USA is to have a chance of winning this tie; that is, beat Lorenzo Musetti for the first time in his career at an ATP-level event.
The pair crossed paths three times, with Musetti taking the 2-1 overall edge, although only one of their previous meetings was at the pro-level. That was two years ago, when Musetti beat Tiafoe in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (1) in Acapulco (2021).
Tiafoe enters this matchup as the slight favorite priced at -170 (bet $170 to win $100) despite his 0-1 losing record versus the Italian. Whereas Musetti is the small underdog at +130 (bet $100 to win $130).

Match 3: Taylor Fritz vs Matteo Berrettini

American Taylor Fritz has the 2-0 head-to-head edge over Berrettini having beaten the Italian twice on a hard court in 2019 and 2021, respectively. In these two matches, the 25-year-old dropped just one set.
Berettini has had a mixed tournament and is coming off a three-set loss to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semis. Fritz, by contrast, got the Americans the win with his narrow 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) win over Hubert Hurkacz in the third rubber of USA’s tie with Poland. Fritz is coming off a standout 2022 campaign, giving him the slight betting edge over the Italian. However, Berrettini is a former Top 10 player and one that can’t be overlooked.

Match 4: Madison Keys vs Lucia Bronzetti

Madison Keys appears to have a straightforward contest against Lucia Bronzetti, though the pair have never crossed paths at a WTA event.
