Jabeur and Gauff were the second match on the day’s card. The Tunisian went into the match trailing the American teen star 1-3 lifetime. But she was the oddsmakers’ favorite to win and she didn’t disappoint.

Bencic Overcomes Sakkari
Bencic reached her second straight WTA Berlin final after overcoming Maira Sakkari in a three-hour semifinal.
The No.1 Swiss player dropped the first set in a grueling tiebreaker. But she bounced back to win the next two sets and claim the match, 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-4.
Sakkari went into the semifinal as the slight favorite and to her credit, she played an inspired semifinal match. She gave Bencic all she could take and more. The difference In the end was just a handful of points that could have gone either way.

Jabuer vs Bencic Head-to-Head
Belinda Becic has a 2-1 edge over Jabeur lifetime. However, all three meetings were on clay and one in 2021 featured a retirement by Jabeur.
In 2022, the pair met twice. Bencic beat Jabeur in the Charleston final 6-1, 5-7, 6-4. Jabeur leveled the score with a three-set victory in the R16 in Madrid, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
