Sao Paulo GP F1 Predictions: Go Back to Betting McLaren in Brazil 11/3

  • Norris leads recent qualifiers, making him a top pick with the Sao Paulo GP F1 odds
  • Interlagos favors McLaren’s setup over Ferrari this weekend
  • Verstappen also faces retirement risks, which you can bet on the BetUS Sportsbook

It was an unforgettable weekend for Carlos Sainz Jr. and Ferrari as they conquered the Mexico City Grand Prix. Ferrari has now re-inserted itself in the constructors championship and we like their F1 betting lines to get the leg up on McLaren. But for Sao Paulo this weekend, the McLarens may have the edge given the circuit’s layout. So we’re going back to betting on the Papaya team.

2 Ways to Bet the Sao Paulo GP: Back Papaya

1. Bet Norris, McLaren in Brazil

Ferrari dominated the Mexican Grand Prix as Sainz won qualifying and never looked back. But Lando Norris salvaged second place and was well ahead of Max Verstappen. In Sao Paulo, the track should favor Norris and his McLaren. We like the F1 betting line on Norris as he still has the fastest car on the grid. Interlagos will help him maximize his car beginning with qualifying

Norris still has been the most consistent driver at gaining pole position. The young Briton has won four of the last six qualifiers. Ferrari’s drivers won the other two. Norris also captured the fastest lap in three straight races. In Sao Paulo, Norris finished second in both the race and sprint while winning the sprint shootout. This is his year.

Red Bull has fallen by the wayside and with Verstappen likely serving another penalty, this should put less pressure on Norris to race. His rival raced too aggressively in Mexico, which resulted in a sixth-placed finish. Norris can inch closer to the driver’s title by winning pole position and fending off the Ferraris. Our first bet online is for Norris to top qualifying.

Bet on Pole Position – Lando Norris (+200)

Next up is to bet on Norris to win the race from pole. Since F1 returned from the break, two of the last three race winners did it from pole position with Norris being one in Singapore. The other is Sainz in Mexico. This is a battle between two teams and two drivers – whoever does better with Ferrari.

Given the odds, Norris is our F1 pick today to win the race. He’s won three times this season and is learning how to be a championship-level driver.

Bet on Lando Norris to Win Outright (+200)

2. Take a Wild Pick: Verstappen, Red Bull Retires

McLaren’s gain is Red Bull’s loss. We can bid adieu to the team’s hopes of winning the constructors’ title. Verstappen still has a shot at holding on to win his drivers’ trophy but it may come at a cost. The three-time defending champion is showing his frustration on the track. And with his back against the wall, he may just go bust in Brazil via a shock retirement.

Verstappen has had many run-ins in Interlagos. The combination of the track plus its spot in the calendar – late in the year when championships are decided – revs up the Dutchman’s gear. He has only retired in two races since 2022 (both in Australia). But he may just cause a collision or drive his car to a breaking point.

At 14/1 on the online sports betting odds, it’s worth a bet that Red Bull has the first retirement. Betting on Verstappen specifically doubles that at 28/1. But this bet covers Sergio Perez having another retirement. The Mexican is also racing desperately for his spot as he got into it with Liam Lawson, his potential replacement, in Mexico. This led to both drivers finishing without points.

Either Verstappen or Perez could retire first in Sao Paulo. This is our long-shot bet of the weekend.

Bet on First Constructor Retirement – Red Bull (+1400)

The Best F1 Bet This Weekend? Double Down on McLaren

While Red Bull suffers, McLaren can all but guarantee the constructors’ title with a double podium finish on Sunday. Norris will win the race while Oscar Piastri returns to the podium for the first time since Singapore. It’s more than double and the odds are generous enough to warrant a bet.

Bet on Both Cars Podium Finish – McLaren (+175)
