Will the Dodgers Sweep, or Will the Yankees Live to See Another Day?
MLB Playoff Picture Today
The Dodgers have taken complete control of the World Series with a 4-2 win in New York to go up 3-0 in the series last night.
Walker Buehler had a surprisingly effective outing, shutting down the Yankees over five innings. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton continue to struggle while the Yankees offense has yet to wake up in this series.
There is no question as to who is favored to win the World Series, as the Dodgers are now -2100 favorites on BetUS to hoist the trophy. The Yankees were +305 to win the series yesterday before game three, but are now +950, needing a reverse sweep to win the title.
New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Analysis
The pitching matchup tonight does not have the usual feel of a World Series clinching game. The Yankees will send Luis Gil out first, who will be making his second start of the postseason. Gil’s first outing in the playoffs was a four-inning outing against the Guardians in which he gave up 2 earned runs in 4 innings. Gil was a serviceable starter this season, sporting a 3.5 ERA and a 15-7 record.
On the Dodgers side, it’s looking like a bullpen game with a thinned-out starting rotation. Granted, the Dodgers bullpen has proven effective over the last two series.
If the Yankees want to win this game, Aaron Judge has to wake up his bat. He hits in the three-hole for the Yankees, a pivotal spot in the lineup, yet he is 1-12 in the World Series with 7 strikeouts.
The Dodgers are pitching a bullpen game today and they used quite a few of their relievers yesterday. I don’t think they are going to sell out for the sweep knowing that they have four chances to close this thing out. Therefore, my MLB score prediction for today is that the Yankees fight back in the series with a true starting pitcher on the mound and don’t get swept.
