Jay Money:
What’s up? What’s up everybody? Welcome to another NBA show, BetUS TV. Guys, I’m your host Jay Money. We got our guy Skee Profit with us as well, and our guy Chris Farley here breaking down the NBA games. This is what we do, man. We’re trying to get some cash every single day. What’s up with you, Chris? Everything cool with you, my brother?
Chris Farley:
Yes, sir. Midweek, happy to be midweek. Happy to have a full slate of NBA action, although we don’t have a lot of games to go over on the car, so send in those questions, everybody, on the show if you want us to talk about anything else. But I think we’re turning a corner here a little bit, boys. NBA becoming a little more predictable, perhaps. So let’s keep that rolling.
Jay Money:
Yes, sir. Let’s keep it going. And if you guys do send the questions, make sure they’re some good questions, man. Don’t be sending in them BS questions, guys. But what’s up with you, Skee? Everything cool with you, my brother? How you doing over there?
Skee Profit:
Yeah, I’m doing all right. I wasn’t on the show with you guys yesterday. I know my best bet of the day did win, so I’m always happy about that. And I got to pick it up on the show, man. I’m bringing down everybody else. So let’s try and pick some winners today.
Jay Money:
Well, you might not… Nah, trust me, Skee. You usually bring a lot of plays to this show, my guy. So regards to that, we’re going to get some cash here. But guys, also send your questions in the chat, man. I’m just messing with you guys. Send them in. We’ll try to get to as many of them as we can. We’ll break down these games as well, guys. Let’s get straight to it. First game up here, guys.
No, first. I’m sorry, guys. Let’s check out the best big rig. Look, it’s so bad. Well, it’s not that bad. I didn’t even want to go to that part, guys, but I’m ready to get to business, man. But 457 plays overall, guys. We’re sitting at 218-35, so it could be a lot worse. At one point, I believe we were 20 games on their 500, so at least we’re turning along there. Don’t worry about it my guys. We’re definitely going to try to get to this cash here starting today. Four pushes as well, man.
But let’s go over here, straight to business here. First game up. We’re going to the streets of Dallas here, man. We got the Mavs. Laying two points at the house verses the Atlanta Hawks. Now, the Mavs have been struggling in this one, Skee, right? They’ve only won one of their last five games coming off their road trip as well at the house. Over and under sitting at 233 as well. Skee, how you looking at this game, my brother?
Skee Profit:
Yeah, when I think about Dallas, it’s a team that I don’t like laying points with, but the more I look at it and the line coming down to two, it’s almost just pick the winner. And Dallas is 16-6 straight up at the house, so they have that going for them. But I don’t like betting on these teams first game back at the house after the long road trip. I know it was more than five games. I just think they got a lot of stuff they have to take care of when they come back home, and their mind is not always 100% on basketball.
So because of that, and also just looking at the recent performance stats, you can look at what they’ve been doing the last two weeks. Hawks are 5-2 straight up, and Mavs are the complete opposite. But offensively, defensively, Hawks have been a better team. They’re getting healthier now. Capela back in the lineup. That should improve their rebounding. That should improve their defense. And I just think they can start trending in the right direction. I know they got some other things going on over there with Trae Young or who wants to be still in Atlanta or not. I just have a hard time laying with the Mavs in this situation. So lean Hawks, and if I’m going to play the total, I know both of these teams are combined 27 and 18, which should be about 60% to the over with the home and roll splits for the season. So don’t trust really either team to play defense. I know, like I said, Atlanta should in theory get a little better with Capela, but lean over. Lean Hawks. Not in my pocket though.
Jay Money:
Yeah, I’ll tell you what’s in my pocket, man. I like the Mavs in this one, man. The Hawks got way too much stuff going on in this one, guys. I know they’ve won three straight. It’s very possible that they could have a letdown coming off that MLK game. But this? Let’s go through the wins, right? They beat the Kings as well, which I believe I was on this show with that play as well. I needed that play, but they still almost pissed it away. They beat the Clippers as well. The Clippers, they’re not in a great state right now. They lost to the Bucks, and that one, which that was a bad loss, so I’m losing that one versus the Bucks. You beat Indiana with no Haliburton, I believe. You beat the Raptors as well. And then you were up by 21 versus the Heat, but still made people sweat. Whoever took the Hawks in that game, like I did, you were sweating in that game, man. Why? Because they don’t like the close out games. They don’t like to play defense as well.
And this is a game where I think you’ll get the really focused Mavs effort. Two days off of rest. Only went 1-4 on that road trip. Give me the Mavs here minus 2. I think they actually going to take these Hawks to smack city. Ton of turmoil going on off the court for the Hawks. Disconnected team. Even things going on in the front office as well. Give me the Mavs in this one. Somewhat of a must-win Jay spot here. Chris, how you looking at this game?
Chris Farley:
Yeah, sounds like all three of us are all over the place on this game. Nothing in my pocket on this show, but I would actually lean to the Hawks. I guess I do like the way that they’re playing lately. The funny thing about adversity is, you go through it, it could really ruin your performance, but then if you get to the other side of it and maybe things start clicking, that can create even more chemistry. You’ve been through something together. Now, I don’t know if that’s the case for The Hawks, but Trae Young is starting to hit a few more shots. Dejounte Murray, also really starting to hit it from beyond the arc too. John Collins back for quite a few games now brings that intensity on the defensive end. And the Mavericks, I don’t know. They should get back Dorian Finney-Smith tonight, Jeff Green. But man, they’ve been out 20-plus games, both of those guys, so they’re going to come in pretty cold tonight, probably. I don’t know how much of a difference they’re going to make.
So I just think it’s Luka against the team that’s starting to function more together. So I like that for Dallas tonight. And I guess I was a little bit more impressed by those wins too, Jay, because the back-to-back where they had to beat the Raptors after the Pacers, Miami coming back home after being on the road is a tough matchup. And they took them to the woodshed in the first half at least. Definitely let them come back, you’re right about that. But this is a game that would be easy just to not play. The line is short, but I would lean towards the Hawks here. And I hate playing on the Hawks this season, especially on the road. But I don’t know. They’re showing a little bit of gelling at least, finally. So no play in this game, but slight leaning to the Hawks.
Jay Money:
Exactly. Now, I think things are about to start to flip as well for the Hawks. They had lost three straight home games. They finally got off [inaudible 00:06:25], seemed to start to play better on the road. Now, I think they started playing a lot better at the house and probably drop a few on the road. This is the 10th straight game for the Hawks in a new arena as well. So they’ve literally been traveling all over the place and hadn’t got a chance to get comfortable as well in the same city, my guys. So give me the Mavs here. On the money line, minus 2, whatever. I fully believe that the Mavs win this game, guys.
Let’s head over to the next game, to the streets of Houston here. We’re heading right down the highway, right down 45. We’re going down to Houston here. We got the Rockets here. Getting 2.5 points at the house versus the Charlotte Hornets in this one. Over and under sitting at 236.5. And this one, obviously going to be a high total with two teams that like to play at a fast pace, and not a whole lot of defense in this one, Skee. We talked about the Mavs coming home off a road trip. The Rockets are coming off a West Coast road trip as well. I believe they lost 10 straight games. But who knows, man? They might try to lose another 20 straight games here, Skee. Do you think this is a winnable game for the Rockets here?
Skee Profit:
I’m not putting my money on the Rockets. No way. They’ve won, what? One game since as far as I can remember. I know they’re on a 10 game losing streak. What I’ll say here is, the Hornets aren’t much better, right? They’re on a five game losing streak. But I just feel like they’re favorites for a reason in this game. You have the Hornets… I was talking to you about this earlier, Jay. It’s been one day rest, nothing more than one day rest, all the way back to Christmas. So to get that situation where they played the Raptors back-to-back and the Celtics back-to-back, where four games only traveling to two cities, I think that’s a big deal as far as rest and for them to even get some kind of preparation and stuff like that. And they’ve been playing better than the Rockets lately, so I think that’s why they’re favorites in this game.
I have a lot of extra numbers and all that good stuff to back it up. I’ll say, roll favorites on a four, five, or six game losing streak. They’re 67.2% going back a few years to 2016. So a lot of things just lining up for the Hornets to bounce back after how they’ve been getting embarrassed, and the punching bag of the NBA, well, one of them. I know Spurs… Well, Spurs started to cover, but Spurs have been one long-term. But punching bag of the NBA, third game in four nights for the Rockets. I got to fade them, man. They’re going for Wembanyama. They don’t want to get any wins. Give me a Hornets minus 2.5 points. Four of the last five games they have won, and all of them were blowouts. So I think we get another blowout tonight.
Jay Money:
And the difference between the teams like the Hornets and the Spurs as well, they actually have a coach. They actually have structure as well. Try to run plays and play basketball. This Rocket, I’ll say it again, this team is not a real basketball team, in my opinion. And I don’t really like to talk too bad about a team, because that’s when they’ll play good. But this Rockets team is the worst team in NBA by far. They don’t have a real coach. I feel like, Chris, the only reason why they’re keeping Silas over there is because they are trying to lose games. If they had any aspirations to win any games, you got to get rid of him, man. I know his dad’s a hell of a coach. He was even a good assistant coach in Dallas, but he’s not doing it. They’re not teaching these guys anything. If you actually heard NBA players coming out saying as well that they feel like Green and Porter Jr deserve better as well, because they’re two young players. Chris, how you looking at this game, my guy?
Chris Farley:
Yeah, I’m on the Hornets with Skee, so that’s my first play. And he really explained well why we should be on the Hornets. The Rockets just aren’t a team you can really play in most of these situations, and we’re getting a really reduced number on Charlotte. Of course, they’re on the road, but it’s not like Houston’s a premier home court advantage or anything like that. But I’ll speak more about the over. It’s just hard for me not to play the over. And we’ve seen this number tick down a little bit. Saw that yesterday in the Spurs game, and I ended up losing that bet as well. So hopefully, that’s not what’s going on here.
But these are just two of the worst defenses in the NBA by far. They’re not showing any signs of improvement. Hornets have allowed 122 points over the last 10 games on average. The Rockets, a staggering 123.7 points per game allowed. And when two bad teams face each other, which is how these two teams qualify right now, and probably two teams who aren’t really trying to do that much this season, even the Hornets at this point, they just have so many losses, it becomes a game where you have players who are out there trying to look good, compete for their futures in the NBA and their contracts, and they’re not really that interested in playing a lot of defense. And the hallmark of a really bad defense, in my opinion too, is when you see, if you look deep into the stats of these two teams, at the rim and on the perimeter, they’re just terrible. And that commands some type of effort. You have to get to the perimeter, you have to get under the rim. There’s no effort from these two teams.
So as long as the pace stays high, which it usually does in Hornets games, and I think the Rockets will try and keep up. I like a fast pace, I like a lot of points, and I’m going to go with the Hornets too. The Rockets are especially bad in their defense at the rim, so the Hornets can at least keep on attacking there. We know that Lamelo Ball and company like to do that, so they should experience a lot of success there tonight.
Jay Money:
Yeah, you guys make some good points, man. You’re basically talking me into the Horn… I don’t need a whole lot of talking to. I know that the Rockets are a strict fade. I leaned the Hornets as well, just I didn’t get there. But I was basically thinking all night, “How do I not just take the Hornets there just off principle?” I know that they don’t necessarily deserve to be role favorites, but still got Lamelo Ball, Rozier as well, man. So I’m saying, you got to have some type of pride about yourself. I know we been losing games, but we can’t be losing to the Rockets here, man. We might tank the rest of the season, but we can’t lose to the freaking Rockets, man. So I do agree with you guys. And as good as Sengun is offensively, he’s not the greatest defender out there. He’s their starting center, so not sure how they’re going to defend. Even Plumlee. Hell, might have to play some Plumlee rebounds in this one. Skee, just one question real quick. What do you think about this? Some Plumlee rebounds are going up against Sengun here?
Skee Profit:
Yeah, they keep raising Plumlee props, but a couple guys that I respect keep cashing on him, so I can’t talk you off any. Plumlee, I haven’t gotten involved myself and I’m sad about it, and it’s probably a better option than Sengun for tonight, just because everybody’s seen him go off now, and his numbers have skyrocketed. It’s just a little bit too high at this point compared to his averages. Even with his average up from 26.7, 0.3 average assist to closer to 30 the last month, I still can’t do that. I will say though, keep your eye on Jabari Smith Jr. It’s 1.5. When they dip it back down to 1.5, you have to be interested. I know he hasn’t been that high shooting it, but he’s hitting that at a little bit under 63% on the season. So those are my opinions on the props.
Jay Money:
I like it, my guy. Let’s get to the next game. So my guy Skee rocking with Hornets, minus 2.5, and Chris rocking with the over 236.5, and Hornets minus 2.5. Those are definitely correlated in that one, guys. I may have to ride with you here and fly with Buzz City in this one, my guys.
Let’s head over here to the next game, man. Let’s go to the streets of Memphis here, where we’re going to the grind house, here. We got the Grizzlies laying 7.5 points at the house versus the Cavs in this one. Over and under sitting at 227.5 in this one, Chris. I feel like the whole world, I know Skee kind of likes it, but I feel like the whole world’s just going to take the Grizzlies here, right? It’s easy. Let’s just take the… No Donovan Mitchell, let’s take the Grizzlies here. I’m not buying. I still think the Cavs are still a great team, even without Donovan Mitchell. Have a lot of offensive weapons here, Chris. Do you think the Cavs can hang around here?
Chris Farley:
Yeah, I absolutely do. And the first question I had about this game is, how many points is Donovan Mitchell worth, right? Because the Cavs, in my opinion, they’re just more versatile than most teams. They’re a little deeper than a lot of teams too. So Donovan Mitchell, a really important player for them, but with him being out, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we should fork this team tonight. I don’t think so. And I think 7.5 is a few too many points. It’s also just an unfamiliar matchup for the Grizzlies, right? Yeah, they’ve won 10 straight games, their offensive rating is through the roof, but they’re facing a different kind of team tonight. They haven’t seen the Cavs yet this year. Obviously different conferences. And we know what the Cavs do best. They do best at interior scoring and they do best at interior defense, especially on defense, allowing only 48 points in the paint per game.
That’s what the Grizzlies do, right? The Grizzlies are masters at infiltrating the paint, getting those mid-range buckets, the buckets at the rim. It’s a lot of Ja Morant, but it’s just the way that they play basketball. But they’re not necessarily a very efficient shooting team from anywhere else on the court. So I think the Cavs can at least mitigate some of those easy opportunities that the Memphis Grizzlies get on a night-to-night basis against teams that just really don’t know how to handle it. They still got the Twin Towers down there in Evan Mobley and Jared Allen. You’re going to have maybe a bigger role for Darius Garland tonight. So maybe that’s something to look at too. But like you said, Jay, they have a lot of options offensively, whereas as good as the Grizzlies are, if they face a team like this that can challenge them at the rim and challenge them in the mid-range, then it’s going to be more of a back and forth game. We’re not going to see as much of a blowout.
So 7.5 is just a little too many points for me. I know they’re on the road. This is a tough team to bet against in the Memphis Grizzlies. And they could go probably as far as they want to this year, as long as they stay healthy. But I think the Cavs can at least be formidable tonight. So I’m taking them at 7.5.
Jay Money:
I’m right there with you, man. I’m taking them as well. Skee doesn’t like it, man. Skee likes the Grizzlies here. He’s basically with the rest of the world here. Now, I know they ball out the house. They are somewhat like the Nuggets where it’s hard. You don’t want to bet against them at the house. But this one is really mainly on the Memphis Grizzlies, in my opinion as well, man. But I’d like the Cavs in this one. The Cavaliers plus the 7.5 in this one. I know, Skee. I know you don’t like it, but tell us why you would be on the other side and take the Grizzlies in this one.
Skee Profit:
Well, for one, the Cavs don’t have a winning record on the road. They’re not covering games on the road. That’s number one. Number two, missing a lot of offense with Donovan Mitchell out. And I just think you’re still going up against a Grizzlies team who’s one of the top defensive teams in the league, top five I would say. And last five games, they’re number one defensive rated team. So you telling me that, I think they’ll have a game plan to maybe take Garland out the game or focus on him, and just make life tougher for everybody else on Cleveland. And if they’re doing that, I don’t see that offense having a whole lot of success putting up that many points.
And then you look on the other side. I don’t think the points matter. It doesn’t matter how much the Grizzlies are. When they win games, they cover. Last 22 wins, 18 3-1 against the spread. Last two weeks, they’re winning by an average of 14 points per game. At the house, they’re winning by closer to 12 points per game. And I get the matchup thing where Cavaliers, they have the trees, they’re really good defending the paint, and we know that’s where Ja Morant wants to get to. But there’s some other guys on this team who could shoot.
And also, before I forget, Memphis does have a little bit of length over there too. They could bank with those guys. But Desmond Bane, he’s the guy I’m looking for to have success in this one. He’s averaging 3.1 three-point makes at the house so far this season. He’s gone over 2.5 65.2% of his 23 games, and he’s gone over the last five games that 2.5 number. So I think it starts with him. If he can knock down some of those threes, Grizzlies can get out in this one and win by a margin the same way they’ve been doing. They’ve won 10 in a row. I don’t see why I’d step in front of them today.
Jay Money:
Yeah, only thing that I could ask you, why do they take the… Because when the Grizzlies usually cover spreads at the house, obviously they’re taking a team super series. Why do they take a Eastern conference team here in series, but right before they head out on the road and play five basically big Western conference games? Do you think there’s could be a possible look-in here, for the Grizzlies?
Skee Profit:
If they were not on a 10 game win streak and feeling good and playing good and in a good spirit about themself, then yes, possibly. But when you have that 10 game win streak, all them guys on the team know it. They want to keep it going. So that’s just how I feel.
Jay Money:
That’s a good point. And they’re not the greatest team on the road as well, so maybe they want to go ahead and show out at the house. You make some good points in this one, but I’m still rocking with the Cavs plus the 7.5 in this one. Starting to see 8s pop up to there as well. So don’t be a bit surprised to see this one close at 8 here. So our guy Skee here is rocking with the Grizzlies, minus 7.5, and Desmond Bane, over 2.5 three pointers. I’m going with the Cavaliers plus the 7.5. And my guy Chris rocking with the Cavs plus the 7.5 as well. We love it, man, for the show. Someone’s going to win here, but Skee has two plays as well, so definitely going to be a great win in this one, guys.
But what you say, man? Let’s go ahead and get to the Q and A segment here. Our guys have questions in the chat about games that we didn’t go over in this one guys, so let’s get to the first question, guys. First question up. Giovanni says, “How do you guys feel about Jalen Brunson over 26.5 points,” Chris?
Chris Farley:
I like it. We saw what Jordan Poole did the other night to the Wizards. Steph Curry too, right? They both went off. And I think that’s the way that you hurt the Wizards, right? You just have explosive smaller players who can get to the rim, and that’s exactly who Jalen Brunson is. So I like the matchup for him tonight, and I think they’re going to probably need him a little bit more than usual. The Wizards are scoring some points a little bit more efficient than usual.
Jay Money:
Yeah, that’s a good point there. Skee, you like to look at those props. Do you think Brunson goes off over 26.5 points? Does it seem high to you or no?
Skee Profit:
No, it seems honestly low. I’m just thinking about what he’s been doing. He’s been going off. I’m just trying to pull up his stats here. He had 26 in the last one, but other than that, 27, 34, 34, 44. He’s getting in like clockwork. So against a Washington team who’s not that great defensively, last five game stats, I have them as 24th. I don’t see why he can’t get there today.
Jay Money:
Yeah, it’s a good point. You guys made some good points in that one. I feel like it’s a tad high in my opinion. They just faced off versus the Knicks as well. Don’t be a bit surprised. Whatever worked in the last game versus the Wizards, don’t be a bit surprised to see them practice and focus in on that. So they just faced them two days ago. So I’m leaning Wizards, so when I usually do that, I don’t like to take props on the other side. That’s just what I like to do. So I wouldn’t be a bit surprised for it to be a Wizards type of game, if that makes sense.
All right, next question up. F. Erker here in the chat says… It’s a little hard kind of name, I must say. “Kings versus Lakers?” Skee, got to go to Skee talking about some Lakers, baby.
Skee Profit:
Well, number one thing for me, and I’ll say this quite often, it’s simple. I’m not laying points with the Kings. I just don’t think they’re that good of a team. I don’t think they play good enough defense to expect them to win by any kind of margin. I don’t really care what the margin is, unless it’s a pick them, I guess. But Lakers, they’ve been covering. Last two weeks, I have them 5-1 against the spread. They’ve been winning games. And some of these last couple games, they’ve been barely losing. So I know they’re hungry. As long as LeBron is out there, I could only look towards their way. And his point prop is getting up there. I think it’s 33.5, but he’s been killing it. I want to say how I look towards him.
And I was talking to you earlier, Jay. Somebody’s going to grab these rebounds. It was Thomas Bryant for a while, but for whatever reason they’re starting to take his minutes away and now give it to Gabriel. So maybe you look towards LeBron on his rebound prop. Maybe go with a Westbrook rebounds plus assists. I’m just trying to talk it out and give you guys something. I didn’t bet the game yet, but those are my thoughts right now.
Jay Money:
Man, you know what I’m thinking? Maybe you got to start, because people don’t look at unders when bidding props. It’s basically all we hear is overs, right? Maybe you going to have to start looking at some LeBron under assist, because what I see from him is all scorn. He doesn’t care about no triple doubles. He really didn’t even… Obviously he’ll try to get some boards or whatever, but that’s mainly so he can get the ball, run down the court, and shoot it. Not pass the balls. I feel like under on his assists might be something that I have to start looking at, because I see ball-hogging Bron right now, Chris. But how would you be looking at this Kings versus Lakers game? Kings have won two versus the Lakers this year. The last one they won, the Lakers did win. Two point game on a last-second foul for Dennis Schroder in that one, Chris. How are you looking at this one?
Chris Farley:
Yeah, I think the value is gone on the Lakers, unfortunately. You could still take them on the money line, but that was, what? 4, 4.5 earlier this morning. So that just would’ve been a much better number. Hard to take, too. But I agree with Skee. I think you’d want to play on the Lakers on this side, if anything. Maybe a little bit of revenge here on their mind. And while they’re not playing a lot of defense, they’re at least finding some rhythm on offense. They probably would’ve had another one recently if it wasn’t for Russell Westbrook just not showing any signs of self-awareness whatsoever and taking the final shot. But that’s just what happens with the Lakers game-to-game.
I will say, this total? 247. I woke up wanting to take the over. It’s really hard to bet over 246, 247, but this is one of those games. I live bet in the Lakers Sunday night, I think, at under 265, and it still went over. These Lakers games are going over, Jay. They’re going over one after another. And the pace should be high tonight. Shouldn’t be a lot of defense. So I wouldn’t say it’s a bad idea to even take the over at this number. I just can’t bring myself to do it.
Jay Money:
Man, what was that? I’m pretty sure you’re talking about the game versus the Rockets in that one, man, where they got-
Chris Farley:
Yeah, it’s 272 it ended at, I think.
Jay Money:
Oh, good God. The Lakers, man. Yeah, 140-132, man. The LA Lakers, man. But we’ll see what happens in that one. Nothing’s strong enough for me to bet in that game, guys. Next question up here. My guy Aaron Rodd in the chat says, “Denver Nuggets team total over 123 verses the Timberwolves?” Skee, you like the Nuggets tonight. Do you like for them to get over that team total of 123 though?
Skee Profit:
It seems a little bit high. I know the Nuggets are averaging 120 the last two weeks. And Timberwolves, let’s see where they’re giving up here. They’re allowing 113.7, so I don’t know. It might be a little bit too much here with Denver on the back-to-back. Maybe they try to win this game playing defense. They have been better on that end of the floor lately. The one thing I’ll say though, Minnesota the second worst team defending the three, Denver number one shooting it. And if they can take advantage of that three point line, it’s going well over that 120. It’s just, I prefer to play the Nugget’s side.
Jay Money:
Yeah, that’s a good point there. And so Chris, I think this one is really mainly on Gobert, right? If Gobert is in there, I’ll be honest, I’d be looking at the under. If he’s out, it could really sway things, and his number would probably go up and then you can only look towards over. It’s a ton of points in my opinion, especially on the back-to-back, where like Skee said, they could come in here and just want to win with defense in somewhat of a lower scoring type of game. And I believe I saw Jamal Murray’s listed as questionable on this one as well, Chris. What do you think about the Denver Nuggets teen total over 123?
Chris Farley:
Yeah, well, this exact same situation happened earlier this month, right? The Nuggets faced the Timberwolves on a back-to-back. Now, they were on the road in that game, they’re at home tonight. But they lost that game against the Timberwolves, and I wonder. They had all their starters in. Jokic was in, Murray was in. I just wonder if the Timberwolves are one of those teams that maybe match up uniquely well against the Nuggets. Plus, it’s a back-to-back, guys. I was so impressed by the way that the Nuggets won that game last night by a margin too, because that’s a intra-division game. Trailblazers, I think they were coming into that thinking that they’re going to win the game. And the Nuggets take over. Go ahead, Jay. But I wouldn’t be looking to play on the Nuggets in this one. I’ll just say this.
Jay Money:
No, I wasn’t even trying to cut you off. I wanted to let you finish, Chris. I had just remembered something. Were you finished there?
Chris Farley:
Yeah, no. I’m all done. I’m just saying I wouldn’t want to play on the Nuggets tonight. And I think there’s too many points, to your point.
Jay Money:
Something popped up in my head, ding, that the coach was not… He’s out for health and safety protocols as well. He was out. He got ruled out. That’s why that line started to move yesterday from 7 down to 5.5. Mike Malone will not be coaching the Denver Nuggets tonight. So that could come into play. That’s something I forgot to mention on my show. And I thought it was funny, because Chris, I said the same thing earlier, me and Skee did a show, that maybe the Timberwolves are just a bad matchup. It’s not just the last game, Chris, because that was a bad spot for the Nuggets. That was a game after they had to wait 45 minutes, stuff going on with the rim. I knew that was going to be a horrible spot, but they’ve actually lost four straight versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Timberwolves are 4-0 against the spread last four verses them as well.
So I’m looking to see what’s up with Gobert in that one, but I forgot Malone is out in his game. He will not be coaching. That could definitely come into play when it comes to calling plays, yelling timeout plays, all that type of stuff. So little nugget for you guys that didn’t know that Malone is out. Health and safety protocols, guys. You guys remember that shit, man? But let’s go over here. Last question. My guy Rick White in the chat, Skee, says, “Do you like CJ McCollum points over in this one, in the New Orleans Pelicans game?”
Skee Profit:
I probably would include his assist, maybe points plus assist, just because he’s going to do a lot of the playmaking facilitating whenever Zion, Ingram, everybody’s out. So that’s my thought process for McCollum.
Jay Money:
That’s a great point there, Skee. He’s the main ball handler there, Chris.
Chris Farley:
Main ball handler. But you guys are better at props than I am, but the Heat are going to be mad tonight, guys. They allowed an offensive showcase from the Hawks the other night. Now, it’s in Atlanta, it’s MLK day. I get it. The narrative is there. It was awesome to see that in Atlanta. At the same time, the Heat are pissed off. So I don’t know, maybe this isn’t the game to play on any props or offense from the Pelicans. That’s a game I’m staying off of.
Jay Money:
Yeah, I think usage alone that you could only look towards the points and assists over. Skee was right on with that one. He’s basically the only point guard. I loved Jose Alvarado, but CJ McCollum is the only point guard. Maybe they got to try to get Devonte Graham back out there, man. He was playing point guard for them. They got to try to do something.
Skee Profit:
Jack City.
Jay Money:
Huh?
Skee Profit:
That’s Jack City, Devonte Graham. Never seen a shot he didn’t like.
Jay Money:
Yeah, nah. He going to pull him, man. He’s had some high… You know what? This is the last thing. We’ll close out the show. I think Devonte Graham got paid money, and then he stopped really working out. You hate to see it. A lot of these young guys. He was a baller before he got that contract extension. Got the extension, and he’s fallen off the face of the earth now, man. So I love Graham, but he really balled out for the Hornets before he got paid, man. I hate to see things like that, man, because that’s clear work ethic that’s went down the drain right there. But enough of that. We talked enough, man. We talked basketball, we talked questions, went over every game that we had our best bets on, guys. Now, let’s go ahead and recap our best bets for Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, guys.
Our guy Skee Profit is rocking with the Charlotte Hornets minus 2.5 full game in that one. He’s also going with the Memphis Grizzlies minus 7.5 full game. He’s also taking Desmond Bane over 2.5 three pointers made. He also plays for the Memphis Grizzlies. Me, Jay Money. I’m rocking with the Mavericks on the money line in this one. The Dallas Mavericks to win straight up verses the Atlanta Hawks. Also rocking with the Cleveland Cavaliers plus the 7.5. And my guy Chris Farley is rocking with Hornets, Rockets over 236.5 in that one. The Charlotte Hornets minus 2.5 full game. Cleveland Cavaliers plus 7.5 full game as well, guys.
