Indiana Pacers vs Brooklyn Nets Betting Analysis

After reviewing the BetUS handicappers’ NBA predictions today, I began to dig into the numbers and constructed my own predictions on NBA games tonight. One that jumped out to me was Alex’s Brooklyn Nets as slight home underdogs. Since the show was broadcast, the line on this game has inched up half a point to where we are getting the hook but also the juice (+115).

Sure, that means the public, the sharps, or a combination of both may be betting on the Pacers, but I say let them. Better for us. Indiana has failed to cover in their last nine games. That’s not a misprint, nine games in which their backers have yet to see a single dime.

They are also playing the second leg of back-to-back games tonight after dropping a 122-111 decision to the Raptors as 3-point road chalk. Moreover, this is the third stop of a four-game road trip for the Pacers, and it already looks like they can’t wait to pack up and dribble back to Indianapolis.

Look, are the Nets world-beaters this year? Hardly. As a matter of fact, they’ve lost their last three games, but they have an extra day of rest than Indiana and will be playing in front of the fan friendlies. This is not a ringing endorsement of the Nets but rather a fade of the Pacers.

Pick: Nets +2 ½ (+115)

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Los Angeles Clippers Betting Analysis

Sean caught my attention with the Clippers as one of his NBA betting predictions on tonight’s slate. These teams met just last week when they tipped off in Minneapolis, and it was a battle throughout. The Wolves won the first half, but the Clippers battled back from a six-point halftime deficit to come within a whisker of getting an improbable road win. When the dust settled, Minnesota claimed a 93-92 victory, but the Clippers’ backers got the dough, as LA was a 6 ½ point underdog.

Now the venue shifts to Los Angeles, and the Clippers are coming off impressive wins over the Nuggets (126-122) and, most recently, the Trail Blazers (127-105). But here’s the thing that’s begging us to bet the Clips: LA is 9-1 against the number over their last 10 games.

Of course, even a train stops; I get it. But while the Clippers have been a veritable ATM, the T-Wolves have been bleeding cash, going 3-7 ATS over their last 10 contests. We also saw LA battle the Wolves in their own building five days ago and nearly win the game. Now the Clippers are in their own sandbox, and the results should be even better.

The caveat is that LA played last night, and this is the second leg of back-to-backs. If that scares you, then pass on the game. But if you like a home dog that has been covering like a warm blanket, then grab the points and back the Clippers in your NBA picks.
