Jeff Nadu, also known as the Big Man on Campus, graced our BetUS panel today and has decided that the North Alabama Lions are worthy of being included as one of his best college basketball picks today. The Atlantic Sun Conference doesn’t get much buzz, but Jeff has spotted a winner, and that’s all that matters.

I understand the allure of backing the home chalk in this one. North Alabama is 10-1 against the number in games in which it was favored by 7.5 points or more this season, while Queens is 2-4 against the spread in games in which it has been the underdog by 7.5 points or more.

We should also note that the Lions have been sneaky good at the betting windows, going 18-9 ATS, which means they are cashing at nearly a 67% clip. This should be a good spot for North Alabama, as the Royals’s defense is far from their strong suit, allowing 74.2 points per game and ranking 255th in the nation.

That alone should be enough to back them, but there is also a revenge factor for the Lions as they experienced a mild upset at the hands of the Royals a month ago, dropping a 75-67 decision in Charlotte as 4-point road chalk.
