Best NFL Bets for the Conference Championship Round

Washington Commanders vs. Philadelphia Eagles Analysis

Las Vegas Cris, one of our BetUS NFL handicappers, made a compelling case to back the underdog Commanders during his NFL pregame show. Washington was supposed to be a speed bump on the way to the Lions’ Super Bowl appearance, but the Commanders had other plans.

As we all know, the Commanders came up large in their stunning 45-31 victory over Detroit in the hostile territory of Ford Field. This is the Cinderella story of the season, and although I would caution against betting with your heart, it’s nice when the facts line up on the same side of emotion.

The last time these teams met, Jayden Daniels torched the Eagles for 5 touchdowns en route to a 36-33 victory. Daniels also had 81 rushing yards and was a one-man band. But now the venue shifts to Philadelphia, which means the Commanders are going to get more points from the oddsmakers than they should. That’s fine with us, as we see Washington matching up favorably against the Eagles, and getting a full 6 points looks overly generous in this spot.

Grab the road hound and back the Commanders in one of your NFL games this weekend.

Pick: Commanders +6 (-110)

Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs Betting Analysis

In his NFL game breakdown, BetUS capper Las Vegas Cris made a compelling case for an outright Bills victory. And if recent history is any indication, the Bills seem like the smart choice considering they have defeated Kansas City in 3 of their last 4 meetings, including this season’s 30-21 victory in November.

The Chiefs’ defense loves to bring the heat, and while blitzing often and playing man coverage may work just fine against less talented or less experienced quarterbacks, Josh Allen is neither. The Bills quarterback Allen is, according to Pro Football Focus, a top 5 quarterback against the blitz and owns the third-best passer rating versus man coverage. Although the Chiefs defense has been more impressive than its offense this season, it is tailor-made for a guy with Allen’s ability and makeup.

As for the Bills defense, I’m not as concerned as I would have been in other years facing the Chiefs. This is no longer an explosive offense, ranked 15th in scoring, averaging 22.6 points per game, 22nd in rushing (105.3 RYG), and 14th in passing (222.4 PYG).

The Bills scored 31 points the last time these teams met, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they were in the 30s yet again. I don’t have faith that this KC defense has the chops to withstand that big arm of Josh Allen while the Chiefs’ offense no longer scares me.

Buffalo is my NFL hot pick this weekend!

Pick: Bills +110 ML
