Best Bets for Commanders vs. Lions and Rams vs. Eagles
Washington Commanders vs. Detroit Lions Betting Analysis
Las Vegas Cris is enthusiastically backing the Commanders in one of his NFL games this weekend. I think most fans without a dog left in this postseason fight are rooting for the Lions, a team that has spent much of their existence as the laughingstock of the league.
They are the proverbial Cinderella story, and head coach Dan Campbell is a tough guy not to like as he makes another Super Bowl run.
However, we’re here to bet with our minds, not our hearts, which means we will switch allegiances at least on Saturday night and watch the Commanders keep pace with the high-flying Lions, who enjoyed the luxury of a first-round bye due to their top-ranked seeding in the NFC.
But sometimes that rest turns to rust, and the Commanders’ defense did a nice job of containing Baker Mayfield and an explosive Bucs offense last week as Washington eked out a 23-20 victory. Tampa checked in with the No. 4 scoring offense, averaging 29.5 points per game, but Detroit is at the top of that list, scoring an average of 33.2 points per game.
But I say, Big deal. The Commanders’ offense isn’t too shabby, scoring 28.5 PPG, and is ranked third in run production, averaging over 154 rushing yards per game. This is critical because once Washington establishes the run, the chains will move, the clock will tick, and this game will shrink to the fourth quarter where it will ultimately be decided.
I don’t know if the Commanders can pull off an outright upset, but hanging within a 10-point margin is definitely doable, which is why Washington is my NFL hot picks of the week.
Pick: Commanders +10 (-120)
Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Analysis
Two of our esteemed BetUS handicappers, Las Vegas Cris and Steve Fezzik, have both circled the Eagles as the team to bet on in their Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles betting analysis.
Philly quarterback Jalen Hurts returned from a three-week absence due to a late-season concussion and looked crisp throughout the Eagles 22-10 victory over the overwhelmed Green Bay Packers. Hurts tossed a pair of touchdowns yet threw for a modest 131 yards.
