Los Angeles Chargers vs. Houston Texans Betting Analysis
We’ve got two BetUS sharpshooters in Las Vegas Cris and Steve Fezzik, backing the same pony on Saturday afternoon, as they have circled the Houston Texans as their NFL hot pick of the weekend. The AFC South champions are actually 3-point dogs in their own sandbox, and there’s nothing better than getting a live dog at home to maul the opposition.
The Chargers are getting all kinds of respect after drilling two lousy opponents in the final weeks of the season when they dismantled both the Patriots (40-7) and the Raiders (34-20) on the road. However, the Houston Texans are neither of these teams and are several clicks above that caliber of competition.
Virtually every team entering the postseason is dinged up to one extent or the other, and these teams are no exception. However, when it comes to the offense, the following Chargers are questionable at the time of this writing: running back J.K. Dobbins, wideouts Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer, as well as right guard Trey Pipkins III.
Now I’m not suggesting these four won’t suit up, but if they are limited, then this will give the Texans a big advantage. I believe the game plan will be to limit Justin Herbert through the air at the expense of allowing Dobbins to run wild. The Texans can win that kind of a game with CJ Stroud connecting early and often to Nico Collins while veterans Robert Woods and Dalton Schultz will be available to catch the short routes and move the chains.
I don’t think the Texans are going to the Super Bowl this year, but they’re good enough to advance to the next round. Nevertheless, we’ll take the points just in case this one is close.
Pick: Texans +3 (-110)
Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Analysis
I am completely buying what our BetUS handicapper, Steve Fezzik, is selling after revealing his Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles betting analysis. There is no denying the Packers appeared disjointed and out of sync in their last game of the season when they dropped a 24-22 decision to the lowly Chicago Bears on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field of all places. Sacrilege, I say!
This is a rematch of the teams’ season opener in Sao Paulo, Brazil, when the Eagles came away with a 34-29 victory. And if we take a quick glance at the line on this one, we see Philly laying 4 ½ points, which sounds just about right considering the outcome four months ago.
