Saturday Night Fights on ESPN FOX

The weekend is loaded with Saturday Night Fights on ESPN FOX. Julian “J-Rock” Williams defends his WBA and IBF 154-pound titles in Philadelphia this Saturday night against the Dominican-born Jeison “Banana” Rosario. Both men fight under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.

J-Rock, who’s a Philly native, has won six straight fights. Six of those fights were by decision while the other two were TKO’s. His last loss was a 5th round TKO to Jermall Charlo. The 154-pound champ is coming off a 12-round decision win over the previously undefeated Jarrett Hurd. Sixteen of Williams’ 27 wins were by KO/TKO.

The 29-year old champ stands at 5’10” with a 72.5″ reach. He’ll be the slightly shorter fighter but will hold a two-and-a-half reach advantage over Rosario.

The challenger, will stand at 5’11” with a 70″ reach. Thirteen of his 19 victories were by way of knockout.

Rosario has won four straight fights. Three of those fights were by KO in the 5th round or sooner. Rosario’s last fight was a SD win over the now 29-4-0 Jorge Cota. “Banana” is yet to see a 12th round. This will also be his first time fighting on the East coast. Eleider Alvarez (24-1-0) vs. Michael Seals (24-2-0)

Eleider “Storm” Alvarez, a Colombian native, will headline a Top Rank Boxing event on ESPN+ this Saturday in a bout that’s scheduled for 10 rounds in the light heavyweight class.

Alvarez, 35, holds a shocking TKO win over Sergey Kovalev in 2018. The win Kovalev’s WBO and IBA light heavyweight titles. He lost the WBO title when he rematched the Russian early last year.

Saturday’s fight versus Michael Seals will be for the vacant WBC Continental Americas light heavyweight title. A win would likely earn the champion a shot at a world title.

Michael “Cannon Handz” Seals is an under-the-radar fighter known for his power. He’s an 11-year old pro with 18 KO’s to his name. He’s won four consecutive fights, three of which were 1st or 2nd round KO’s. His last time out, Seals one-punch KO’d Elio Trosch.
