In the words of the UFC President himself: “On September 14, we will put on the greatest live sporting event of all time. You’ll never see anything like this again in your life; it’s a one-of-one.”

While we don’t know exactly what Dana has in store, we do know that UFC 306 will be the first sports event to be held in the Las Vegas Sphere, a dome-like structure and the world’s largest concert-grade audio system, with groundbreaking technological features like haptic seats, 4D machines, and a 160,000 square-foot wraparound LED screen surrounding the Sphere’s interior.

More important than the spectacle of it all, the fighters! With one of the company’s biggest stars, Sean O’Malley, headlining the event, let’s dive into Riyadh Season Noche UFC with a complete preview and first look at the sportsbook betting odds.

The ‘Suga Show’ Returns at UFC 306

With the hype talk surrounding UFC 306, Dana White needed to deliver big on his promises, and this was particularly crucial for the evening’s main event. Since Francis Ngannou’s departure, Conor McGregor’s out-of-octagon escapades, and Jon Jones’ semi-retired lifestyle, the promotion has been short on true superstars of late…

Fortunately, a bright-haired, skinny-framed menace named Sean O’Malley had a free space on his schedule, and the bantamweight champion who’s risen to superstardom now finds himself in the marquee event of Noche UFC versus a formidable opponent in Merab Dvalishvili who together provide a classic striker versus grappler matchup.

“The Sugar Show” punched his way to the throne at 135lbs behind an emphatic, precise, and widely entertaining kickboxing skill set. He surprised onlookers and oddsmakers with a clean knockout over Aljamain Sterling to capture the bantamweight crown, then after treating Marlon Vera as a punching bag last time out, he’s back in action to defend the championship a second time.

Dvalishvili, 33, a longtime friend and training buddy of Sterling, looks to avenge his teammate on the biggest stage following an impressive 10-fight win streak. He’s the polar opposite of O’Malley, with an in-cage style that heavily relies on offensive wrestling, but he’ll need to mind his Ps and Qs in this five-round war

O’Malley vs Dvalishvili Betting Odds

O’Malley is technically the moneyline underdog with a -110 set of UFC betting odds. However, the comeback on Merab sits at -120, making him a slight favorite only by a margin and adding more intrigue to an already intriguing clash of styles.

  • Sean O’Malley UFC 306 Odds: -110
  • Merab Dvalishvili UFC 306 Odds: -120

They Meet Again: Grasso and Shevchenko III

In the co-main event of UFC 306, Mexico’s UFC women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso aims to end her prolonged feud with former champion Valentina Shevchenko.

Shevchenko exerted complete control over the women’s 125-pound class, leaving little doubt that anyone in the division could remove her as queen bee. However, Grasso had different intentions and performed tremendously in March of 2023, surpassing Shevchenko in a striking war before ultimately defeating her with a face crank submission in the fourth round.

Grasso didn’t just shock the world as a huge underdog; she captured the flyweight belt and Submission of the Year, as an immediate rematch occurred six months later. Contrastingly, the second bout couldn’t separate the two after resulting in a draw.

I was mad; you were angry. We were all frustrated that night because nobody wanted a bore-draw. Fortunately, the trilogy is on, and the debate will be settled at Noche UFC. Is it time for Shevchenko to regain her position atop the rankings, or will Grasso come out on top once again? Either way, we’re guaranteed violence!

Grasso vs Shevchenko Betting Odds

MMA odds blessed underdog backers in the first fight, with Grasso at +575 on the moneyline. Unfortunately, Grasso’s odds went to +145 in the second fight, and now, with more public confidence than ever, she’s dead even at -115 with the “Bullet.”

  • Alexa Grasso UFC 306 Odds: -115
  • Valentina Shevchenko UFC 306 Odds: -115

We Aren’t Done Yet…

Stop daydreaming about “the one that got away” because we’ve got it right back!

The main card feature bout for UFC 306 sees former 145-pound No.1 contender Brian Ortega clash with Mexico’s fastest-rising star, Diego Lopes. This absolute banger of a fight was scheduled in June before Ortega fell ill on fight night, leaving us combat sports diehards heartbroken but with many UFC predictions to make ahead. To our delight, the MMA Gods answered our prayers, as “T-City” and Lopes are guaranteed to blow the roof off, or whatever the structural element for the top of the sphere is called.

Then, of course, a list of Mexico’s fighting talent is scheduled to compete with this planned celebration for Mexican Independence Day weekend. From the teenage sensation Raul Rosas Jr. to Daniel Zellhuber, Ronaldo Rodriguez, and many more!
