Up next for MMA sports betting fans is UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs Hill, which pits two of the top UFC Women’s Strawweight contenders against one another. After watching Overeem’s brutal finish over Sakai in this past Saturday’s Fight Night, UFC betting fans are hungry for more ferocious action from within the Octagon. To build anticipation for this weekend’s event, let’s take a look at the fights and the BetUS href=”https://www.betus.com.pa/sportsbook/”>sportsbook lines.

Early on, this event was scheduled to be headlined by a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between Thiago Santos and Glover Teixeira. Teixeira’s positive test for COVID-19 on September 3 forced that PPV event to be rescheduled for early October, giving us this Fight Night matchup instead. The pairing between Waterson and Hill is quite attractive for longtime UFC bettors. Both fighters are household names within the UFC and it’ll be interesting to see how they measure up against one another. Hill is a UFC veteran that has struggled to make a big enough splash to garner a title shot. The same can be said about Waterson, who enters this Saturday’s action riding a 2-fight losing streak. So what do the UFC odds have to say about this pairing between two former Invicta Fighting champions?
UFC Fight Night Betting Analysis
UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs Hill | Main Card
|Michelle Waterson||Ev||Angela Hill||-130|

As can be seen above, the UFC Fight Night odds are pegging veteran Angela Hill as a betting favorite over Waterson. However, the favoritism isn’t as lopsided as some of the other fighters on the Main Card. Let’s take a closer look at both fighters in this weekend’s headlining match to see who has the upper hand.

Waterson, the former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, last stepped into the Octagon in may at UFC 249 where she faced Carla Esparza in the prelims. Ultimately Esparza walked away with a split decision victory over Waterson. Before that Waterson faced former UFC Strawweight Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC Fight Night: Joanna vs Waterson where she ended up losing via unanimous decision to the former champ. Now Waterson is hoping she can get back on the winning side of things by taking on Hill in this Saturday’s main event.
So far in her career, Waterson has 17 wins and 8 losses through 25 fights. It appears that she’s stronger on the ground as she has nine wins via submission and only three via knockout. Both Hill and Waterson measure 5’3″ but Hill does have a 2.5-inch reach advantage over her opponent. Look for Waterson to take this fight to the ground to negate that advantage. After all, Hill has zero submission wins to her name and two losses via submission. With that in mind, it’s clear that Waterson’s advantage lies on the ground.
Like Waterson, Hill is coming off a loss. However, unlike her main card opponent, Hill is 3-1 in her last four bouts. Her most recent loss came at the hands of Claudia Gadelha at UFC on ESPN: Overeem vs Harris. Hill ended up going a full three rounds versus the Brazilian before suffering a loss via unanimous decision. The former Invicta Fighting Strawweight Champion enters this weekend’s Fight Night action with a 12-8 record to her name. As previously mentioned, she has zero wins via submission. Hill does have five wins via knockout and the rest were via decision. Despite 15 fights with the promotion, this weekend’s bout will mark the first time that Hill has headlined a UFC event. We’ll have to wait and see how she fares.
