UFC’s Landmark 300th PPV: Celebrating the Rise of MMA

34 Years and 300 Pay-Per-Views Later…

Huge Milestone in Professional Mixed Martial Arts

This weekend, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC betting fans are in for a treat as The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues its reign as the planet’s No. 1 mixed martial arts promotion with a spectacle of scheduled fights to celebrate its 300th pay-per-view event.

In 2001, the Fertitta brothers, known for their network of casinos in Nevada, acquired the MMA firm for a sum of $2 million. They promptly appointed their long-time acquaintance, Dana White, as the president of the UFC.

White assumed control of the leadership position before UFC 30 on February 23, 2021. In an interview during the time, he outlined his grand vision for the promotion:

We currently have a capacity crowd of five thousand enthusiastic and prepared individuals,” He said.”Essentially, our objective is to elevate this event to the status of the Super Bowl in the realm of mixed martial arts.”

White and his business associates transformed mixed martial arts (MMA) in the subsequent fifteen years. This sport had previously been likened to human cockfighting but evolved into the world’s fastest-expanding athletic industry.

Even when Lorenzo and Frank sold the UFC to Ari Emmanuel’s Endeavour for $4 billion in 2016, White kept running the show while they were gone.

After the UFC and WWE combined to become TKO, a business worth an incredible £17.3 billion, the 54-year-old was again appointed to the position of CEO.

With just six days until UFC 300 gets underway, White’s Super Bowl moment is approaching.

White previously showed exceptional success when the UFC commemorated its 100th pay-per-view event in 2009 and once again seven years later when the business recorded its two-hundredth show. However, neither of these previous milestones has reached the level of hype we’re currently witnessing with UFC news regarding its three-hundredth PPV.

The UFC 300 event is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on April 13, two months after the Super Bowl, in the birthplace of the leading organization in mixed martial arts.

Preliminary Card Filled With Main Event-Worthy Clashes

Prepare your UFC picks and parlays from the early preliminary card because UFC 300 delivers a line-up like no other. The night’s first fight features two former champions, Deiveson Figueiredo and Cody Garbrandt, thus proving how talent-stacked this monumental pay-per-view really is.

Not forgetting Jim Miller, the man who’ll make history when he fights Bobby Green, a fellow OG of the promotion. This will mean the 40-year-old from New Jersey will have competed at UFC 100, 200, and 300.

Elsewhere on the prelims, you’ll find a slew of former champions, including Jessica Andrade, a Brazilian powerhouse known for her aggressive style; Holly Holm, the former bantamweight champion famous for her stunning knockout of Ronda Rousey; Jiri Prochazka, a rising star from the Czech Republic with a string of impressive knockouts, and Aljamain Sterling, the former bantamweight champion known for his slick grappling.

We’ll also witness the long-awaited debut of Kayla Harrison, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in judo and the most recognized name in women’s professional mixed martial arts outside of the promotion until now.

To fully comprehend how special UFC 300 really is, know that every scheduled bout on the preliminary card, besides two, features fighters that are top-10-ranked within their respective divisions.

Three Championships + a Special Throwdown

Load up those UFC best bets because if you thought the preliminary card was stacked, that’s just the warm-up. Brace yourself for the rare occurrence of three titles being up for grabs on the card: the ‘BMF’ title, the women’s strawweight championship, and the light heavyweight strap in the main event. And if that isn’t enough, the formidable Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan will throw down before we even reach those title contests!

Of course, many people have been critical of the absence of major stars such as Conor McGregor, Israel Adesanya, and Jon Jones. That said, those same people cannot argue that there’s ever been a more talent-stacked event in professional MMA history.

A unique and special moment in the sport is upon us, and if Dana White’s MMA answer to the Super Bowl were to come to fruition, it would undeniably have its greatest chance to do so this weekend in Sin City.
