Main Event Features Rematch
Yaroslav Amosov and Logan Storley run it back at Bellator 291 and we can’t wait for the main event on Saturday.
Amosov won the first meeting by split decision and he’s the -165 favorite to improve his record to 27-0.
Storley is out for revenge as the +135 underdog with Bellator odds.
Amosov Beating All Comers
The 29-year-old Ukranian is one of the most successful Bellator fighters of all time and the welterweight champion wants to remain unbeaten.
Following his controversial split-decision win against Storley in 2020, he has since beaten Douglas Lima at Bellator 260, which is an excellent form guide. Lima is a legend of the sport and he scored a convincing five-round decision win.
We have liked his spread of victories throughout his career, including nine knockouts and 10 submissions. He’s a dual threat and that could make life tough for Storley again.
Leaving the sport to help Ukraine in the war was admirable, but he’s back and ready to do business.
“It wasn’t an easy decision,’ Amosov said. ‘It was my wife, my family and my friends who encouraged me to do it. It wasn’t to leave Ukraine to stop fighting, but I would be of better use to my country if I was out there, representing it on a global stage, able to do interviews like this one. Let people know that this is still going on, the war is still going on and people are still being killed.”
Bettors get -165 for the favorite and we’re not surprised by those odds. He is only three wins away from equalling the all-time unbeaten record of Khabib, so there is plenty on the line in Ireland.
Storley Seeking Redemption
The unbeaten run of Storley came to an end when losing to Amosov, but he rebounded in fine style.
He scored three consecutive wins against Dante Schiro, Neiman Gracie and, more recently against Michael Page. Beating Page is a big scalp, and having consecutive fights going the full distance is ideal.
He’s fit and ready to turn the tables on Amosov, who could be thinking about other things at the moment. We know Storley has been solely focused on this fight, which could give the American an edge.
Our only worry is if this fight gets taken to the canvas. Storley has no submission wins on his record, so Amosov could take him down and end the fight with a submission.
The sportsbook has Storley at +135 and that’s a fair line. He has more recent fighting under his belt and that can’t be overlooked for the interim champion.
Amosov vs Storley Head-to-Head
This will be the second meeting between Amosov vs Storley. The first ended in a split decision, so there was very little separating them.
