Bellator 272 Prelim Picks
Alexander Shabliy vs Bobby King
- Moneyline: Bobby King +700, Alexander Shabliy -1100
- Total: Over 2½ (-150), Under 2½ (+120)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Lightweight (155 lbs) (3 Rounds)
Alexander Shabliy should make short work of Bobby King here as the MMA odds indicate. Shabliy (20-3-0) is a blue-chip prospect and a future contender who hits hard and can do it all. King (10-3-0) is a solid veteran but he’s outmatched. Instead of betting Shabliy straight, bet the under as Shabliy could KO King within two rounds.

Pick: Under 2½ (+120)
Kai Kamaka vs John De Jesus
- Moneyline: John De Jesus +165, Kai Kamaka -210
- Total: Over 2½ (-205), Under 2½ (+165)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Featherweight (145 lbs) (3 Rounds)
Kai Kamaka III is an exciting fighter and one who will stand and bang to the fans’ delight. But bet online against him here. as Bellator is doing Kamaka (8-4-1) no favors giving him another tough banger in John De Jesus. Not only is De Jesus (14-9-0) experienced, he is also a bigger southpaw with a seven-inch reach advantage! Bet De Jesus or pass.
Pick: John De Jesus +165
Levan Chokheli vs Vinicius de Jesus
- Moneyline: Levan Chokheli +105, Vinicius de Jesus -135
- Totals: Over 2½ (-Ev), Under 2½ (-130)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Middleweight (185 lbs) (3 Rounds)
This one has Fight of the Night written all over it if it lasts that long. Both Levan Chokheli and Vinicius de Jesus throw down and one is likely to go down. Chokheli (9-1-0) has some value as the underdog but de Jesus (9-4-0) is more a grizzled veteran who can dirty up this fight and take the more technical Chokheli to deep waters.
Pick: Vinicis de Jesus -135
Justin Montalvo vs Jacob Bohn
- Moneyline: Justin Montalvo -230, Jacob Bohn +180
- Totals: Over 1½ (-160), Under 1½ (+130)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Lightweight (155 lbs) (3 Rounds)
The MMA betting odds are bit flipped here. Justin Montalvo is a legitimate striker, but this is MMA and the more experienced Jacob Bohn could exploit his greenness in the grappling game. Bohn (10-7-0) has decent enough wrestling to take Montalvo (3-0-0) down and expose him.
Pick: Jacob Bohn +180
Killys Mota vs Mike Hamel
- Moneyline: Mike Hamel -125, Killys Mota -105
- Over: Over 2½ (-155), Under 2½ (+125)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Welterweight (170 lbs) (3 Rounds)
Mike Hamel opened as an underdog but has been bet down to a favorite. He’s fought the best Bellator has to offer while Killys Mota is a step down. He can use his potent wrestling to ground out and beat up Mota (12-2-0) though the Brazilian has dangerous submissions. Bet Hamel (8-5-0) or take the under at plus-money.
Pick: Under 2½ (+125)
Spike Carlyle vs Dan Moret
- Moneyline: Spike Carlyle -120, Dan Moret -110
- Totals: Over 1½ (-19-), Under 1½ (+155)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Catchweight (160 lbs) (3 Rounds)
Spike Carlyle and Dan Moret are both former UFC fighters who have gone on winning streaks since leaving. But we’re leaning on Carlyle (12-3-0) who packs more power and is the more explosive fighter though Moret (16-6-0) is a tough out with his all-around style.
Pick: Spike Carlyle -120
Oliver Enkamp vs Kyle Crutchmer
- Moneyline: Kyle Crutchmer -145, Oliver Enkamp +115
- Totals: Over 2½ (-145), Under 2½ (+115)
- Weight Class (Rounds): Welterweight (170 lbs) (3 Rounds)
Kyle Crutchmer and Oliver Enkamp (7-1-0) are a pair of prospects with a grappling-heavy base: Crutchmer (10-2-0) as a wrestler and Enkamp (7-1-0) as a Jiu-Jitsu player. The latter has a massive size and reach advantage and has more ways to win this fight so he’s the pick.
