Heavyweights Headline UFC Fight Night
Will Blaydes Slice Through Daukaus?
Making waves in the heavyweight division are Curtis Blaydes and Chris Daukaus, who headline UFC Fight Night on Saturday.
Blaydes is the current favorite at the sportsbook to beat Daukaus, but it should be one of the closer heavyweight fights of the year.

Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports, and UFC odds for Blaydes vs Daukaus. We’ve plenty of predictions for you to consider.
Blaydes Looks Razor Sharp
Curtis Blaydes wasn’t happy when getting knocked out by Derrick Lewis in 2021, so he rebounded with a professional outing against Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
Despite not picking up the knockout victory, he outclassed his opponent and he has had plenty of time to recoup and prepare for Chris Daukaus.
The 15-3 fighter is making his way up the heavyweight ranks and it wasn’t long ago when he scored back-to-back wins over Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem.
Blaydes believes he’s the better fighter than Daukaus and UFC odds agree. He’s the -400 favorite to get his hand raised.
“I know he’s (Chris Daukaus) a good boxer,” Blaydes told LowKick MMA. “He’s very orthodox, he doesn’t do a lot of crazy techniques. He believes in the basics, which is something I also believe in. I know he is also very good at Jiu-Jitsu, and I believe I’m the bigger – I’m faster, I’m more explosive. And obviously, I believe I’m the better grappler.”
Daukaus Needing Bounce Back
Chris Daukaus also suffered a loss at the hands of Derrick Lewis and this is his chance of redemption.
The 32-year-old American is 12-4 after beating the likes of Shamil Abdurakhimov and Rodrigo Nascimento Ferreira, which were quality wins.
However, apart from his first-round knockout loss to Lewis, he hasn’t fought anyone with the talent of Blaydes, which could be problematic.
betting online markets have Daukaus at +300 to score an upset, so he’s not fancied to do the job. He has the credentials to progress up the rankings in the heavyweight division, but there are no easy fights.
He’ll need to fight smart against Blaydes, who has the size advantage. Blaydes is the taller, heavier fighter and has a longer reach, so it doesn’t bode well for Daukaus.
