Cross-Sport Parlay: The Best Value Bets for the Weekend

Building a parlay is one thing. But cashing it? It is often a losing play despite its popularity. For this weekend, we looked across three sports to find some of the best lines to put. This parlay bet starts with Colorado, a hefty favorite, against Columbus, and ends with a UFC main event on Saturday. Here’s a spoiler: we did not lay the chalk with these picks.

Best Bets to Parlay This Weekend

1. UFC: Namajunas Takes Ribas To a Decision – Over 4½ (+120)

Rose Namajunas is favored over Amanda Ribas for the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night. Betting her at -220 is not a bad deal. But we’re salivating over a better line here: the over 4½ on the total at +120. This line is flipped as we estimate this fight to have a better chance of finishing in a decision.

Namajunas and Ribas have highlight reel finishes. But the former is not really a consistent finisher. Four of her last five fights went to a decision. Judging by how she’s looked in her last two fights, we’d say she just does not have the same killer instinct anymore even if she says otherwise.

Ribas is a talented fighter who can push Namajunas. But we don’t see her finishing or even hurting the former strawweight champion. As such, the ‘over’ at underdog odds makes for one of the best UFC parlays today.

2. Boxing: Harper Edges Ryan – Terri Harper (+300)

After coming off draws, Terri Harper and Sandy Ryan both have chips on their shoulder in this welterweight title bout. Ryan was arguably robbed in her last fight against Jessica McCaskill. In the eyes of many, she is the undisputed champion of the division. While our boxing pick is on Ryan to beat Harper here, getting +300 on a fighter like Harper is too good to pass up.

Harper has faced better competition than Ryan and is younger despite having more professional experience. Ryan’s edge here is her aggression. She will be the boxer coming forward and pushing the action. But she’s also hittable and Harper will have a speed advantage here.

The onus is on Harper to show up. She looked to be in poor shape against Cecilia Braekhus but still managed to get a draw. If she’s more motivated and shows the same fire she did in her three-fight winning streak, she may be the best boxing bet.

3. NHL: Avalanche Overwhelm Blue Jackets – Colorado -1½ (-155)

Colorado opens as a -380 favorite against Columbus at home. This is a mismatch as the NHL betting odds indicate. Laying that kind of chalk is inadvisable. Instead, take the puckline at -155. The Avalanche have an NHL-best 26-6-0 record at home and average nearly 4.3 goals against 2.5.

On top of that, Colorado has been a moneymaker at Ball Arena, covering 24 of its last 42 pucklines here for an astounding 28% return on investment (ROI). On the flip side, Columbus is just 1-6 in its last seven games as an underdog and averages under three goals per road game.

We expect Colorado to blast past the Blue Jackets here, especially if you add the latter’s injuries. Key scorers like Yegor Chinakhov and Adam Fantilli are on the mend, which makes an already-inconsistent offense less prolific. Bet online on Colorado to win by 2+ goals.
